Donkey Kong Country Returns HDis the third version of the game that originally started on the Wii. If you ever played any of the 2D side-scrollingDonkey Konggames in the past, then you will pretty much know what to expect with this game. Yet remastered graphics is not all that this game brings to the table. The controls are satisfying, and each stage presents fun challenges that you will need to overcome.
Eventhe earlier levelsrequire you to be precise with your timing, especially if you want to obtain all the collectibles throughout the levels. If you are struggling to 100% King of Cling, here is where you can find everything across the entire level.
All Letter Locations
The letter ‘K’ can be found near the start of the level. Jump onto the badly damaged stone block to get onto the ledge where there is a DK Barrel. Up to the right, you will see the first letter.
The letter ‘O’ can be found in the area where you encounter two spinning wheels in the background. To reach them, ground pound on the flower on the platform between the two bridges. This causes a barrel to appear. Enter the barrel, and it will transport you to the other side. Once you are there, use the spinning wheels to reach the top where you will find ‘O’.
‘N’ is not too far from where you found the sixth puzzle piece. Further ahead, you will come across an area with two wheels and grass on both sides of the wall. Navigate to the right side of the room and climb down the grass wall on the right to find the letter ‘N’.
The final letter, ‘G’, is near the end of the level. In the section with all the bouncy flowers and the spinning enemies, move to the right side of the room. You will see ‘G’ right next to one of the enemies.
All Puzzle Piece Locations
The first puzzle piece can be found almost immediately after you’ve acquired the first letter. There is a hidden platform right next to where the letter ‘K’ is floating. At the end of this platform is the first puzzle piece. Getting up here is fairly easyif you have Diddyand use the jump pack.
When you encounter the first spinning wheel with the grass on it that you can grab onto, use it to get up to the small platform and jump to the left. You will find a hidden area with the second puzzle piece.
Shortly after you find the second puzzle piece, and you’ve gone past the first spinning wheel, there will be a platform. Jump up to the right to find another hidden area where the third puzzle piece can be found.
Immediately after finding ‘O’, climb up to the top to find a hidden barrel. This barrel will take you to a mini-game where you have to collect all the bananas and the coins within the time limit. If you are successful, the fourth puzzle piece will appear.
If you fall off before you may reach the puzzle piece, you will have to restart the level to gain access to the mini-game again.
Further past the area where you found ‘O’, you will climb across a chasm with a large flower trying to eat you. Along the grass that you are climbing on, you will see an upside down flower. Slam it while climbing to find the fifth puzzle piece. You will want to time this one to avoid getting hit.
The sixth puzzle piece is found after reaching the checkpoint. You will come across an area where you have to use the grass to climb up the walls while dodging the plants. Just below the DK Barrel, there will be a platform and a small alcove to the right. As you approach the alcove, the rock will move away and reveal the puzzle piece.
The seventh and final puzzle is in the next area after you find the letter ‘N’. Walk across the flower and head right toward the rock. Just like the previous piece, the rock will move when you get close and reveal the last puzzle piece.
Time Attack Tips
The best way to complete the Time Attack for this level, or any level for that matter, is to practice it. The more times you do a level, the more familiar you will be with the layout and what you need to watch out for. Timing is important, as jumping at the wrong time can set you back significantly on this stage.
