InWuthering Waves, elements have played an integral role since the game’s launch, providing buffs for characters or resistance to enemies. Unlikeother games like Genshin Impact, elements have not yet been a focal point for reactions or deep synergies within teams. Instead, the elemental mechanics have served primarily to enhance the performance of characters and influence enemy resistances or immunities.
With theVersion 2.0update, there have been notable changes to the game’s elemental system, especially with the introduction of new Echo sets and some character reworks. One significant addition is the ability for characters to apply and benefit from Elemental Effects, which can now have more direct interactions, rather than just being passive buffs or resistances. Here’s all players need to know about Elemental Effects inWuthering Waves.

All Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs in Wuthering Waves
Elemental Effects have been present inWuthering Wavessince the game’s launch, though they were exclusively applied by certain enemies. Players might recall encountering these effects, particularly withelements like Glacio, where enemies such as Lampylumen Myriad could freeze the active character. However, it’s important to note that all six elements in the game come with their own unique effects that players need to consider. Most of the elements have a DoT like effect.
Each element has a distinct status effect tied to it, impacting the player in different ways during combat. They are applied through some of the respective elemental attacks.Dodging will remove the stacksinflicted by each of these elements, so players can get rid of them by paying attention to whether any negative status effects are applied to their resonators and dodging timely.

Elemental Effect-Related Resonators, Echoes and Echo Sets
While there is a slight indication thatWuthering Wavesmay gradually shift toward utilizing Elemental Effects more actively with Resonators and enabling players to take advantage of them, as of theVersion 2.0 update, this mechanic remains somewhat niche. It is limited to only a few Resonators, Echoes, or Echo sets that have been specifically designed to interact with these effects as follows:
Resonators That Can Apply Elemental Effects
Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects
Currently, there is only one echo set, with its respective new echo that benefits from Elemental Effects, specifically useful for Spectro Rover as of now. Unfortunately, no other character currently benefits from below Echo or Echo Set.
