The first of these Pokemon receiving boosted shiny rates isEkans, which makes sense both regarding the Year of the Snake theme, as well as the red-and-gold theme that Lunar New Year entails, as many of the other Pokemon featured throughout the event happen to have red and/or gold colored shiny palettes. During the event,Ekans can be captured in wild and research encounters, so players will need to utilize these methods for the best chance of catching a shiny variant. Lastly, if players do manage to get their hands on shiny Ekans, they may choose to evolve it into a shiny Arbok through the use of50 Candy.

The second Pokemon receiving boosted shiny rates throughout the 2025 Lunar New Year event isNosepass, which, much like Ekans, features a golden color palette in its shiny variant.Nosepass can be obtained during this event both through research encounters or by hatching 2 km Eggs,so players should maximize their opportunity of obtaining a shiny variant by utilizing both of these methods.Shiny Nosepass can be evolvedinto shiny Probobass with 50 Candy while under a Magnetic Lure Module.
