In every level ofDonkey Kong Country Returns HD, there are hidden items that you can obtain, including puzzle pieces and KONG letters. Getting all of them will ensure that youcomplete each level to 100%, which, in turn, can give you the chance to unlock some achievements in the game.
As you reach the second world and begin 2-2,Sloppy Sands, you will need to find a total of seven puzzle pieces and four KONG letters. Some of these pieces are well-hidden and can be difficult to spot on your first run through of the level. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD: All Puzzle Pieces in Sloppy Sands
With atotal of seven puzzle piecesin Sloppy Sands, it can be easy to miss a few on your first try. Here is where you’re able to locate them all:
Puzzle Piece #1
For the first puzzle piece, it can be found at the beginning of the level. Make your way across the first two platforms, jump on top of the bridge, and grab theDonkey Kong Barrel. Then, run back to the beginning of the level and throw the barrel at the broken wall under the cliff. The first puzzle piece will be inside here.
Puzzle Piece #2
For the second puzzle piece, continue through the level until you reach the spot just after the bridge, where some squids are shooting out of a barrel at you. Just after this barrel, slam the platform onto the ground, which will then lift the platform to the right, and a puzzle piece will reveal itself and will belocated on top of the platformjust above.
Puzzle Piece #3
Continuing on, you’ll end up between two barrels with squids shooting out of them. Between here, you’ll spot apink flowerin the sand. Blow on it, and the flower will lift with a puzzle piece attached to it.
Puzzle Piece #4
After passing the section with the red electric squids, there will be a wooden platform above you and to the left of a barrel platform. Above it,you’ll spot a puzzle piece. To get all the way up here, wait for some flying squids to pass by;jump on topof one of them to get a boost.
Puzzle Piece #5
After passing the checkpoint and the small island, jump over the sharks and onto the long wooden bridge. You’ll notice a puzzle pieceunderneath the bridgeon the left. At the end of the bridge, go underneath, and use the cannon to break down the bridge. Then, jump across to grab the piece.
Puzzle Piece #6
After getting to the rocky area, before you pass the next checkpoint, go underneath the platform andenter the roomthere. This bonus room will require you to grab all the bananas and coins within 30 seconds, and once you’ve done so, a puzzle piece will appear.
Puzzle Piece #7
Forthe last puzzle piece, make your way to thegolden DK platformand pound on it to make a barrel appear above you. This will shoot you to the island in the back. Inside this location, the last puzzle piece will be towards the top, to the right of a chest with a heart inside. Walk into the barrels on the right and jump up to grab the puzzle piece.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD: All KONG Letters in Sloppy Sands
As always,there are four KONG lettersfound within Sloppy Sands. Here’s where you can pick them up.
Kong Letter K
For the first letter, you can find it just after the first checkpoint. Walk across the bridge andbreak the wooden boxto the right of the platform in the back. Open the chest here, enter the barrel, and roll into the sandy blocks on the island. Upon doing so, the ‘K’ letter will drop onto you.
Kong Letter O
As you continue along the stage, you’ll easily find the letter ‘O’ at the beginning of the rocky area, justunderneath a wooden platform.
Kong Letter N
You’ll find letter ‘N’ just after letter ‘O.’ Continue onto the platform above andjump on top of some squidsto get a boost above you. The letter ‘N’ will be just next to the hanging barrels.
Kong Letter G
For the last letter in Sloppy Sands withinDonkey Kong Country Returns HD, it can be found on the final island where you got the last puzzle piece. ensure to slam the golden DK platform to get to the island. Once inside, you’ll find the last letter towards the beginning of the area. Jump on top of the moving barrels and grab onto thegrassy ledge. On the right, the letter ‘G’ will be next to a spot where some squids are shooting out.
