Wednesday, April 2 is going to be a big day for Nintendo fans, as that’s when the company is going to host a Nintendo Direct presentation all about its upcomingSwitch 2console. Nintendo still has yet to reveal the Switch 2 price, release date, or launch titles at the time of this writing. Nintendo fans anxious to learn more about the Switch 2 have a wait ahead of them, but the good news is that they at least know the exact date that more details will come.

Nintendo has confirmed that theSwitch 2 Nintendo Directwill take place on Wednesday, April 2, though an exact start time for the event has yet to be announced. Nintendo has not revealed what all it will be announcing during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, but a release date and price are likely. It’s also possible Nintendo will use the Switch 2 Direct to showcase the console’s launch lineup, as well as give fans a look at what they can expect from some of the console’s post-launch games.
When is the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct?
If Nintendo confirms the Switch 2 price and release date during the April 2 Nintendo Direct, as many assume, chances are good that’s also when pre-order information will come to light. It’s entirely possible that theSwitch 2 pre-orderswill go live as soon as the Nintendo Direct concludes, but there’s also a chance that a different pre-order date will be announced during the show. No matter what happens, April 2 should be the day that Nintendo fans have a much better idea of when exactly they will be able to pre-order the Switch 2 and when they will be able to get the console for themselves.
It’s possible the Switch 2 Direct will be primarily hardware-focused, but there’s some hope that the event will also shine a spotlight on the console’s games. At the very least, fans will hopefully get to see thenewMario Kartgamein action again, and hopefully they can get some idea of what else Nintendo has in the pipeline. Ultimately, Nintendo fans will just have to tune in to the June 09, 2025 Nintendo Direct to be sure.

The successor to 2017’s Nintendo Switch continues down the same path as its predecessor, providing a hybrid experience that supports both home and handheld gaming. Launching on July 10, 2025, with games like Mario Kart World, the basic Nintendo Switch 2 bundle comes with the console, Joy-Con 2, straps for the controller, a dock, an AC adapter, an HDMI cable, and a Joy-Con 2 grip.
