Summary
AFortniteplayer was banned seemingly out of nowhere and received compensation for Epic Games’s mistake.Fortnitehas various rules and restrictions, and Epic Games has always been quite strict with them to ensure that players can enjoy their time in-game. Epic Games enforces rules to prevent cheating, teaming, bullying, and hacking. Gamers can report players that have broken the rules and the company will investigate and verify the claim’s legitimacy.
If a player is caught doing anything that goes againstFortnite’s code of conduct, they may receive a temporary ban. The ban’s issued time depends on what the player has done, how many times, and the severity of the damage that they have caused. While some players are only banned for a couple of days for minor reports, there have been cases ofplayers who were banned fromFortnitefor nearly three million days.

Reddit user Owen1218 reported that they werewrongfully banned inFortnitefor a total of two weeks, but they had no idea why, as they claim that they hadn’t done anything that went against the rules. As it turns out, Epic Games confirmed that it had incorrectly taken action against the user and it gave them 2,000 V-Bucks as compensation for the mistake, which is worth about $20.
Fortnite User Wrongfully Banned
According to other players in the comments section of the Reddit thread, it seems that Epic Games always gives out 2,000 V-Bucks if it wrongfully bans someone’s account. Therefore, if Owen1218 had been banned for two months or two days, the payout would’ve been exactly the same. This may not feel like much to thegamers who are restricted from playingFortnitefor much longer periods of time.
It can be difficult toobtain V-Bucks inFortnitebecause gamers can only get them if they buy V-Bucks, unlock tiers of the Battle Pass, or purchase Quest Packs in the Item Shop. Therefore, some players in the comments sections were jokingly talking about how much they wanted to be randomly banned so they could also be compensated. Even though 2,000 V-Bucks is a great way to compensate players, Owen1218 was unfortunately banned during one of the most importantFortniteannuals, Winterfest, and it’s likely that they missed out on the New Year’s live event as well. Thankfully, there are plenty of Winterfest skins in the Item Shop, Winterfest Quests are live, and the presents are still in the lodge, so they can participate in some of the festivities until January 7.
