Due to a massive leak last year, the forseeable future for Insomniac Games has been documented for all to see. Short-term, fans can expect to see the previously revealedMarvel’s Wolverinerelease, as well as a game focused entirely on the villain-turned-anti-hero Venom. Long-term, fans can expect a new entry in theRatchet and Clankfranchise, an X-Men video game, and the finale of Insomniac’sMarvel’s Spider-Mantrilogy. Based on the existing games and the conclusion ofSpider-Man 2, it’s possible to speculate about what the next big Spidey adventure will look like.

WhileMarvel’s Spider-Manfans have understandably been theorizing about majorcharacters like Silkand Doc Ock, as well as potential new gameplay mechanics and improvements, it’s also worth discussing the series’ popular cosmetic system. There will undoubtedly be a range of returning costumes for players to use to shake up their swings through as they traverse New York City, but as has been the case with the other entries, some fully new costumes are just as likely to be added. While it’s impossible to know every costume Insomniac is planning to add, two new outfits - a collaboration skin and a story-based design - are extremely probable.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Could Return the Favor to Marvel Rivals

WhileMarvel Rivalswasted no time collaborating with the MCU on movie-inspired cosmetics, it also reached out to various Marvel games for partnerships. Though name cards based on titles likeMarvel Snapare fun little additions to the hero shooter, and theRivals-themedFortniteglider was a cute surprise, the most exciting game collaboration thus far is undoubtedly theMarvel’s Spider-Man 2bundle. Within it, players get access to the 2.0 version ofPeter Parker’s beloved Advanced Suitfrom the game, with the large white spider and distinct color scheme translating perfectly intoRivals’ world. A name card, spray based onMarvel’s Spider-Man2’s cover art, and an emote where Peter kicks a Symbiote are also included in the pack.

Considering thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Peter Parker,Yuri Lowenthal, also voices the friendly neighborhood hero inRivals, players can get a fully immersive tribute to Insomniac through the skin.

Based on how video game collaborations usually play out - and given the way thatRivals’ other game collaborations have gone - it’s very likely thatInsomniac Games’ nextSpider-Mantitlewill feature some kind of cosmetic fromMarvel Rivals. Rather fittingly given the symbiote at the heart of the character, one mutually beneficial approach would be making the cartoony version of Venom seen inMarvel Rivalsunlockable within his leaked game. Alternatively,Marvel Rivals’ fully original, default costume for Peter Parker could feature withinSpider-Man 3whenever it releases, asRivals’ live-service nature means it will hopefully be going strong years down the road. Perhaps Miles and/or Silk will even be added in that time, giving Insomniac more costume options to eventually choose from.

An Anti-Goblin Suit For Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Would Feel Like a Logical Progression

While a collaboration suit is fairly simple to predict, so too is a story-based look based on how the previous two games have played out. Both majorMarvel’s Spider-Mangames have seen Peter acquiring a suit that directly cancels out the abilities of the game’s main villain. Because of this, it would make sense for there to be a successor to the Anti-Ock and Anti-Venom suits, and withGreen Goblinpoised to be a major threat in the trilogy’s finale, an Anti-Goblin costume could fill that niche. It could boast some kind of blockers for Goblin’s glider, bombs, and other tech, with a different take on the villain’s signature color scheme to make it stand out.

Though it’s possible that Silk or Miles end up designing Anti-Goblin costumes, it’s more probable for Peter to be the one who dons this hypothetical outfit, as he both has the deepest connection to Norman and has been the hero to get the other “Anti” suits. There are other costumes that feel like shoo-ins for thefinale of theMarvel’s Spider-Manseries, such as updated Evolved and Advanced designs, but Anti-Goblin and theMarvel Rivalscostume are undoubtedly near the top of the list for most plausible additions.
