This list spotlights several animated series similar toCastlevania Nocturne, which fans might enjoy if they loved the bloody battles and impressive worldbuilding of the series. These stories were picked for their animation and storytelling quality, and how similar they are in art style and narrative flow.

Based on Greek mythology, this show features a thrilling bloody plot about family ties, betrayal, love entanglements, and the jealousy of beings that are bigger than life. The protagonist is a young man who becomes obsessed with revenge after his mother is murdered. He discovers he is the bastard son of Zeus (or at least, one of the many he has sired throughout the ages).

Of course, Hera won’t stand by idly as this new bastard runs around doing as he pleases. The main conflict is basicallya full-scale war between the godsdue to Zeus' constant mistakes. But, afterward, things get a little bit more complicated — and bloody. A dark twist leads the story towards impending doom and a cataclysmic event that could destroy both realms, human and divine, forever.

Created by Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner, this story narrates the tale of a space crew whoseship crashes onto an unknown planet. Through hardship and exploration, they learn that his colorful world is a hostile land, where only the most gritty and hardcore will survive.

With magnificent environmental storytelling, its dark, sinister plot underlines the seemingly smooth and relaxed flow of its narrative and accompanies fans through a journey into the unknown through the eyes of a colorful (and quirky) crew of misfits.

This powerful, dramatic, and dark prequel to theDark Crystalmovie narrates the tale of Rian, Deet, and Brea,a band of underdogswith the objective of uniting all the Gelfling clans. Together, they hope to depose a tyrannical rule and prevent an apocalypse in the form of a shadowy curse looming over their homeworld.

Though the series was highly criticized and promptly canceled, the truth is that this is an underrated jewel that every fan of dark dantasy should see. Though it is considerably less mature in both tone and animation thanCastlevania Nocturne, the essence of its fantastical setting is about banding together against impending doom.

One of Zack Snyder’s finest productions, and a bloody one at that,Twilight of The Godsis a hardcore take on the Viking heroic tale, with a mixture of family drama and revenge. With an obscure andbloody world background designsetting the mood, the story progresses at a breakneck pace, not giving fans any chance to surrender.

In opposition to most folk tales, where humans defy gods and come back from the journey more wise and seasoned, this story dives hard into the defiance trope, where a band of unlikely allies tries to slay none other than Thor himself. Gory battles and heartbreaking outcomes are guaranteed.

With a mixture of urban fantasy, supernatural events, and folklore from Manila,Treseis an unexpectedly great animation series, based on the comic books of the same name by Philippine author Budjette Tan. Alexandra Trese runs the underworld of Manila like a female Jhon Constantine, lurking in the shadows and beating the hell out of demonic creatures and humans alike. In daylight, she outmaneuvers dirty politicians and works with the authorities of the island to preserve the balance between the mortal realm and the supernatural creatures that inhabit this land.

Fans of Genndy Tartakovsky would unanimously agree thatPrimalis the pinnacle of his careeras a showrunner and creator of the most exciting narratives, with the most endearing characters. But, this show is a vertiginous spiral of blood, action, and brutal battles for survival, and ideal for fans ofCastlevania Nocturne.

It follows the adventures of Spear and Fang, a caveman and his Dinosaur friend, who meet under less-than-optimal circumstances. They band together against adversity, forming a glorious bond of warrior rider and mount like no one has ever seen before.
