Summary
Baldur’s Gate 3already has a wide variety of spells fromDungeons and Dragons, the tabletop board gamethat the franchise is heavily themed around. While there are already plenty of spells modified to fitBaldur’s Gate 3, some players who have enjoyedDungeons and Dragonsmay mourn not having certain spells they are used to in the tabletop title.
These mods have been created to implement many of the missed-out spells across various levels for the player to experiment with when embarking on an adventure inBG3. Therefore, these are some of the bestBaldur’s Gate 3mods that add spells fromDungeons and Dragonsto the game.

7Tasha’s Additional Cleric Spells
Downloads: 55,739
With every base class fromDungeons and Dragonsavailable inBaldur’s Gate 3, there are already plenty of spells shared between each class. However, some players require some unique spell casts for certain classes, such as expanding upon the Cleric spells even more with zzsuperman’s mod Tasha’s Additional Cleric Spells.
As the name suggests, this mod addsmore spells for Clericsto use. Not only does this mean giving the Cleric class already existent spells such as Sunbeam, but also a few new spells that are directly pulled from Dungeons and Dragons that weren’t originally inBaldur’s Gate 3, like Spirit Shroud and Circle of Power.

6Invocations Expanded
Downloads: 145,990
While Invocations may not directly be spells fromDungeons and Dragons, they are features for the Warlock that either give themaccess to other spellsor improve the ones they have available. With the Invocations Expanded mod, players will have access not only to the multiple Invocations that are already available but also plenty of new ones that can be found within the various 5th EditionDungeons and Dragonsbooks.
While some of these have been directly added to the game as they are written and work in the tabletop, other Warlock Invocations have been tweaked by the modder to better balance the gameplay inBaldur’s Gate 3.

55e Monster Slayer - Ranger Subclass (Plus New Spells)
Downloads: 174,588
While some mods simply add additional spells fromDungeons and Dragons, others not only add the magic but also the subclasses that use them the most. Players who wish to try something new as a Ranger may be interested in the Monster Slayer subclass, which is one of the popular subclasses from the D&D tabletop RPG that wasn’t included inBaldur’s Gate 3.
OriginalDungeons and Dragonsspells like Zone of Truth have been implemented with this mod and give the player something new to experiment with. In particular, creating an area where the player can’t be deceived may open up some new scenarios on how to deal with a situation.

4Metamagic Extended
Downloads: 214,608
Like the Invocations Expanded mod, there are other available mods that add further features to some spell-casting classes inBaldur’s Gate 3, that were originally inDungeons and Dragonsbut didn’t make it toBaldur’s Gate 3. Metamagic Extended is a great mod for players who have enjoyed playing as a Sorcerer, but wish they had some more Metamagic options.
Metamagic options like Transmuted Spell have the capability of entirely changing the elemental damage done by a spell to allow players to attack with more variety while still being limited to the spells they already have. While this may not add any new spells fromDungeons and Dragons, these Metamagic options that are also from the tabletop have just as much potential, as well as being available to beused with other mods.
3Mystra’s Spells
Downloads: 1,046,266
While previous mods only added a few new spells for players to experiment with, Mystra’s Spells takes it to the next level as it spoils players with choice. This mod adds 132 new spells for the player to use across the various spellcasting classes.
Some of these spells are homebrew, meaning they were created by the creator of the mod, while others have been directly pulled or inspired by theirDungeons and Dragonscounterparts that weren’t originally added to the game. Players who don’t want to be incredibly overpowered by these new spells don’t need to worry, as each spell has been handcrafted from the ground up to fully implement them with the combat ofBaldur’s Gate 3.
2Artificer Class And All Subclasses
Downloads: 1,108,221
There is only one class fromDungeons and Dragonsmissing fromBaldur’s Gate 3, and that’s the Artificer class. Thankfully, KiderionLykon’s mod adds not onlythe Artificer classto the game but also all of its subclasses. This, therefore, means a lot of content has been incorporated into the RPG to allow players to feel as if they are playing like the class that was introduced toDungeons and Dragonsin Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything.
This mod also adds two new spells fromDungeons and DragonstoBaldur’s Gate 3, as it allows the players to use Mending, to fix their constructs and Absorb Elements. However, there are still plenty of features for the class that feel like spells, too.
15e Spells
Downloads: 3,384,250
One of the best mods for a player to download if they are looking for mods inBaldur’s Gate 3that add spells fromDungeons and Dragons, they should look no further than 5e Spells by Celes. This mod adds a wide variety of unimplemented spells toBaldur’s Gate 3from Cantrips, all the way up to level nine spells, as long as the player has mods that allow them to be available.
5e Spells is likely needed to make many other subclass mods work, due to it including various originalDungeons and Dragons spells that are needed to allow other subclasses to function, not to mention makingBaldur’s Gate 3feel like an entirely new game due to players being able to explore with entirely new magic, or even recreate their characters from the tabletop RPG.
