Summary
Moon Knight has surged in popularity as one of the best Duelist heroes inMarvel Rivalsever since his buffs atthe start of Season Oneand the prominence of the triple heal meta. Moon Knight’s consistent damage output from a safe distance allows him to shred through closely grouped enemies.
Moon Knight’s ultimate, Hand of Khonshu, is one of the few ultimates in the game that can out-damage any defensive Strategist ultimate. This allows for some nasty combos with heroes like Groot and Doctor Strange. These attributes have allowed Moon Knight to be a mainstay in almost all ranks in Season One. However, certain heroes are the bane of his existence and can pressure him immensely. It’s time to discover the best counters players can use to shut down a Moon Knight and secure a victory againstthe Fist of Khonshu.

1Spider-Man
Unmatched Mobility
Spider-Man kicks off this list as one of the many mobile heroes in the game from which Moon Knight struggles to escape. The web-slinging nuisance is simply too fast for Moon Knight to reliably burst down.
While the Fist of Khonshu has some escape tools, Spider-Man is one of the few heroes who can keep up and follow him to secure the kill. It is recommended toswap to a different hero, like Namoror Winter Soldier if an enemy has a Spider-Man locked in.
2Captain America
Incredible Sticking Power
Captain America is a solid choicein dive comps and can really shut down Moon Knight hard if the Captain America player is particularly good. He has too much health for Moon Knight to 1v1 and can isolate him pretty effectively.
Even if Captain America fails to kill off the Moon Knight, he can buy tons of pressure and space, while also demanding attention from enemy healers to keep the Moon Knight up. This can result in the rest of the team capitalizing and securing the fight. Captain America isa hard hero to masterand pilot well, but one that can nullify Moon Knight pretty effectively.
3Thor
Impossible To Keep Away
Thor is the safer and generally more reliable choice to counter Moon Knight, compared to Captain America. He has way more damage output, sticking power, and can reliably 1v2 the backline if the player can manage their ability rotation well.
Thor can constantly force Moon Knight off prime vantage points and force him into awkward spots. It’s also quite hard for the Moon Knight to burst Thor down unless he has two to three teammates supporting him.
4Iron Man
An Aerial Menace
Iron Man is an incredibly annoying character for Moon Knight to deal with. The latter’s kit is simply not built for dealing with aerial characters, which makes Iron Man very effective at countering Moon Knight.
If Hulk is not banned in Diamond+ competitive games for some reason, it’s generally best to avoid going Moon Knight, as it is quite likely that Hulk and Iron Man will be played together. Iron Man’s ridiculous damage output and slipperiness make him a great Moon Knight counter.
5Hulk
Immense Gamma Energy
Speaking of Hulk, the green monster is a big Moon Knight counter thanks to his Gamma Shield, incredible sticking potential, and consistent damage. Hulk can constantly jump in and out of fights to put enough pressure on Moon Knight while simultaneously disrupting other areas.
Moon Knight simply cannot out-damage or cut through Hulk’s health bar, as he is very mobile and tanky. It is generally a good idea to pick a different hero such as Namor, Winter Soldier, or The Punisher to deal with Hulk.
6Storm
Overwhelming Burst Damage
Storm, much like Iron Man, is a hard counter to Moon Knight as she is an aerial hero. However, unlike Iron Man,Storm is probably the best DPS in the gameand has very high burst damage.
It’s almost impossible to get away from a Storm as Moon Knight, and a pure one-on-one is never going to go in the latter’s favor unless he has plenty of allies that can counter Storm to back him up, or if the Storm player horribly misplays the situation. This is one head-to-head where it is advisable to quickly swap to heroes that can deal with aerial characters.
7Black Panther
Great One-Shot Potential
Black Panther is a more reliable option, compared to Spider-Man, if players want to shut down a Moon Knight. The beauty of Black Panther is that he can punish healers trying to keep the Moon Knight up thanks to his dashes, spears, and kicks.
Black Panther, despite his additional health from his dash being nerfed, is still tanky enough to deal with a Moon Knight. He can always make a safe retreat like Spider-Man and get back into the fray in no time, allowing Moon Knight no time to breathe and constantly forcing him to reposition.
8Venom
Huge Health Pool
Venom might be the single-best counter to a Moon Knight if the enemy team doesn’t have any other potent damage dealer, like a Hela, Punisher, Winter Soldier, or Namor. The Lethal Protector has 800 health, which is further increased by his Symbiotic Resilience ability.
This allows Venom to stick around Moon Knight for long enough to kill him with a standard combo of leaping onto him before attaching to him with Cellular Corrosion. While he won’t die if he is getting pocketed by healers, this can buy a lot of space and time for the rest of one’s team to melt the enemy frontline.
