Summary
From being one of the worst Duelist heroes inMarvel Rivalstobeing the very best DPSin the span of one season, Storm has seen a meteoric surge in popularity and power withthe arrival of Season One. With a dedicated team around her, she is incredibly oppressive and unstoppable to play against.
She is one of the most commonly banned heroes in higher ranks and is often the primary Duelist choice if left unbanned. Fortunately, there are still some heroes who can take down this aerial menace with enough skill and coordination. These heroes can deal with Storm reliably and shut her down inMarvel Rivals.

1Mantis
Consistent Damage Buffs And Powerful Ultimate
Mantis is a good counter to Storm in different ways. Firstly, she can damage buff allies that can counter Storm, such as Hela and Psylocke, to put a lot of pressure on the Storm player. Secondly,Mantis herself is a decent damage dealerwho can make a Storm uncomfortable if the Mantis player has good aim.
Lastly, Mantis' ultimate can negate Storm’s ultimate unless the latter is buffed by a Rocket Raccoon ultimate. All of these factors make her a good answer to shutting down a Storm and making her swap to a different DPS.
2Invisible Woman
Fantastic Ultimate And Disruption
Invisible Woman, the newest Strategist in the game, is one of Storm’s best teammates. Funnily enough, she is also a great counter to the Goddess of Thunder. Invisible Woman’s ultimate completely shuts down Storm’s ultimate in most scenarios unless other powerful ultimates are also used by the enemy in conjunction.
Invisible Woman can also punish a Storm player if they are mispositioned, thanks toher Force Physics ability. Pulling in a Storm to a spot where her Strategists can’t back her up is an easy way to pick her off.
3Iron Man
The King Of The Skies
Iron Man is the only other dedicated aerial character in the game, alongside Storm. However, Iron Man is the better hero if a pure 1v1 in the skies is taken into consideration. Iron Man’s damage output with his unibeam and nimbleness allows him to constantly zip in and out of action to keep up the pressure on Storm.
His damage is furtheramplified by Hulk’s teamup abilityand damage amps from heroes like Mantis. When paired with an Invisible Woman, Iron Man is always a decent option to counter Storm if the enemy team doesn’t have any heroes that can shut him down.
4Hela
The Goddess Of Death
Hela was the best DPS characterin Season 0 ofMarvel Rivals. While she has been overtaken by Storm, the Goddess of Death remains a top-tier pick and an excellent answer to Storm in the hands of a skilled player.
Hela rewards raw aim and players that have great accuracy can absolutely crush Storm to the point of making the player swap to a different hero. Furthermore, Hela can pop her own ultimate to avoid Storm’s ultimate and either bait out support ultimates from the enemy or break open a fight with eliminations.
5Luna Snow
Best Ultimate In The Game
Luna Snow continues to be one of the most contested Strategists in the game, as she is always picked or banned in most matches past the lower ranks. The K-pop star is a strong answer to Storm, as her Share the Stage ability allows her flankers to have more sticking power onto a Storm.
Luna Snow herself is a decent damage dealer with her Ice Arts ability, which can quickly reduce Storm’s health if she isn’t positioned properly. Finally, Luna Snow’s ultimate is the best answer to a Storm ultimate inMarvel Rivals.
6Psylocke
Slippery Assassin
Psylocke is a very mobile and slippery target for Storm to keep track of. To make matters worse, Psylocke dishes out ridiculous amounts of damage in short to medium range. Psylocke can quickly close the gap on Storm and burst her down. At the very least, the Storm player has to reposition and back off.
Psylocke is also very self-sufficient and doesn’t really need a Strategist to pocket her, unlike Iron Man or Hela. Her ultimate is also a great tool to try and trade even with an enemy Storm ultimate in terms of eliminations.
7Spider-Man
Exceptional Mobility
Spider-Man is the king of dive DPS heroeswhen played well. A good Spider-Man can become unstoppable unless a Namor is on the enemy team. Unfortunately, Storm is not very capable of dealing with Spider-Man unless she has Goddess Boost to execute a quick burst combo.
Spider-Man can easily tag her to initiate his combo, which can melt through Storm’s health pool. If things go wrong for him, Spider-Man can simply sling away to safety and repeat the process. Even if Spider-Man fails to kill Storm consistently, he will often buy precious time off the enemy Strategists and the Storm player. This can help Spider-Man’s team to take up a lot of space and win fights.
8Namor
Excellent Zone Control And Poke
Namor is one of the best heroes to deal with Storm when he has a Luna Snow on his team. The ice turrets deal immense damage and the slowdown severely hurts Storm’s ability to quickly go behind cover. However, even without a Luna Snow, Namor does a good job at keeping up the pressure on Storm.
Landing a secondary fire on a Storm is enough to deal good damage unless she is getting heavily pocketed by Strategists. Namor can also lay down good poke from a long-range, as his primary and secondary fire has no damage dropoff. At the very least, Namor can buy plenty of space and completely zone Storm away from a particular area. To add the cherry on top, Namor can simply bubble himself to avoid Storm’s ultimate and reposition to a different angle.
