Summary

Each of the Straw Hats inOne Piecehave come a very long way since they all first joined Luffy’s crew, with every single one of them growing much stronger throughout their many adventures, and some lucky individuals even acquiring brand-new forms that can help them out during intense fights. However, while many fans have already debated how the Straw Hat forms match up to one another in terms of strength, one aspect that hasn’t been touched on as much is their designs.

Though the Straw Hat crew will usually only release these forms when absolutely necessary, many of them have incredibly vibrant and eye-catching appearances, which makes them a real feast for the eyes for the brief amount of time that they do show up in the story. When looking at them from a purely visual perspective, here’s how the designs compare in terms of how eye-catching they are, and the amount of attention to detail that has gone into creating them.

8Luffy’s Bounce Man Form

Luffy’s Signature Gear 4 Appearance Would Become An Iconic Look For The Protagonist

When most people talk about Gear 4 Luffy, they are more often than not referring to Bounce Man; the very first form he would showcase after unleashing Gear 4against Doflamingo. The sheer size of Luffy’s body in this form ends up making his head look tiny, while his gigantic muscular arms, which are shielded with glowing armored Haki, showcase the incredible power boost he receives when activating this form against a tough opponent.

Another smaller detail that can be easy to miss is the flame pattern that covers Luffy’s neck after he enters Gear 4, signifying the burning rage that he feels when being forced to use this technique against a stubborn opponent who just won’t give up. The way Luffy can twist and contort his limbs in this form also makes it that much more fun to watch in action.

7Chopper’s Horn Point (Pre-Timeskip)

Chopper’s Appearance Would Resemble That Of A Buff Reindeer In Horn Point

After the timeskip, Chopper’s Horn Point form would simply cause his horns to grow to enormous proportions, but it didn’t always look this way. In fact, it would have an entirely different designbefore the timeskip, where it instead made Chopper look like an incredibly buff reindeer, possessing giant hands to crush his opponents with, alongside humongous horns that could easily take out anyone that dares to stand in his way.

While this is undoubtedly one of Chopper’s most intimidating designs in the series, it’s also clever of Oda to make this more of an animalistic hybrid, rather than just turning into a straight-up reindeer. As a result, it culminates in a look that appears to be several animals all merged into one, making it admittedly very hard to look away from because of how unique it is.

6Nico Robin’s Demonio Fleurs Form

A Terrifying Transformation Which Emphasizes The “Devil” Aspect Of Robin’s Nickname

When creating the terrifying Demonio Fleurs form for Robin, Oda leaned heavily into thegothic horror aestheticto conjure up a design that looks unlike anything else seen in the series. While Robin’s giant pitch-black vampiric wings are the most noticeable aspect of the design, her glowing red eyes and demonic horns allow her to appear even more sinister. The creepy smile that can always be seen on Robin’s face in this form acts as the cherry on top of an already incredible design.

Oda also decided to purposefully keep a lot of this form shrouded in darkness, amplifying the eeriness and creating an aura of mystery that would leave fans pondering what this form even is, and how someone as calm and collected as Robin would be the one to acquire it.

5Chopper’s Monster Point

Chopper Turns Into A Menacing Behemoth When Assuming Monster Point

Chopper’s Monster Point changes almost every physical aspect of the usually cute and cuddly doctor of theStraw Hat crew. While his other point forms will somewhat resemble Chopper’s regular form, Monster Point turns him into a massive behemoth whose entire body is covered by long and thick brown fur, with the only recognizable part being Chopper’s hat and the antlers sticking out of his head.

Though the form may seem a little minimalistic, it’s this simplicity that ends up making it so captivating to look at, and also works to emphasize the smaller details, such as Chopper’s glowing blue eyes which pierce the souls of his enemies. It’s hard to believe that this monstrosity really is Chopper, but it’s also his most stunning design out of all his point transformations.

4Luffy’s Snake Man Form

Luffy Would Look Truly Unstoppable When Assuming His Snake Man Form Against Katakuri

Luffy can assume a few different forms when powering up his Gear 4, but in terms of design, his Snake Man transformation is one of the most detailed and jaw-dropping as far as appearances go. While Luffy’s entire body bulks up in this transformation, his hair also begins floating upwards while his arms and legs begin glowing bright black and red due to all the Haki bubbling to the surface.

This is an epic design that effortlessly conveys just how immensely powerful Luffy truly is, being a wild departure from his usual fun-loving and carefree appearance. In stark contrast, this is a form that can invoke fear into the eyes of even the highest-ranking admirals, and that’s a testament to just how effective it is as a design choice forthe series protagonist.

3Zoro’s Asura Form

A Mystical Form That Puts Zoro’s Unparalleled Strength On Full Display

Zoro’s Asura form seemingly comes out of nowhere when he first revealed it duringthe Ennies Lobby arc, but while it would significantly boost Zoro’s strength, it would also grant him an altered appearance that provides a nice bit of hypnotic imagery for fans to admire. In this form, Zoro sprouts multiple limbs around his body, allowing him to use nine swords at once instead of the usual three.

This already makes it a jaw-dropping design considering how dangerous it looks, but what makes it all the more captivating is the symbol of Asura, a supernatural being from Hindu mythology, who appears behind him when he first activates it. It’s also interesting that Zoro’s legs don’t multiply while everything above his torso does, resulting in a fascinating design that fans were eager to see return after it was first shown off back before the timeskip.

2Sanji’s Raid Suit

Sanji Becomes A Suave And Stylish Superhero After Opening Up The Raid Suit Can

Sanji makes it crystal clear to the crew after leaving Whole Cake Island that he’s not exactly fond of the idea of using his Raid Suit, considering that it was created byhis abusive family. However, when Sanji does decide to whip it out as a last resort, he takes on a sleek and stylish appearance that manages to retain enough of Sanji’s key features, like his swirly eyebrows and blonde hair, while also making him look like an epic superhero thanks to the long black cape and mask.

Sanji also throws on a pair of shades with this design, and also acquires a pair of white gloves, being dripped out from head to toe as soon as he opens the Raid can. While Sanji is already known for his expressive fashion sense, this form takes this to a whole new level, emphasizing not only his suave persona but also his underlying power with how intimidating it looks to his enemies.

1Luffy’s Gear 5 Form

Luffy’s Gear 5 Form Is A Fun And Wonder-Filled Design Packed Full Of Detail

The hotly anticipated Gear 5 form for Luffy certainly didn’t disappoint, not only in terms of its incredible power, but also the design, which alters many of Luffy’s colors to resemble a god-like figure, or more specifically, Nika. One of the most eye-catching aspects of the design is Luffy’s hair, which turns pure white and takes the shape of what looks like small puffy clouds resting above his head. Speaking of clouds, Luffy also gains a large wind-like ring that surrounds him from behind, adding to the idea that he is some kind of mystical deity who has landed from above to help those in need.

A few other small details that add to Luffy’s brand-new appearance is the purple cloth, which adds a nice contrast to the rest of his cotton-white color palette, alongside the giant smile, which is even wider than usual. This design would be such a marvel to look at that there have been a plethora of fan artworks depicting it since it first arrived duringthe intense battle with Kaido.
