Summary
It may surprise veterans jumping intoDynasty Warriors: Originsthat a lot of the core mechanics from the series have been retooled. For example, there is only one primary main character, The Wanderer, and he can equip a variety of weapon types. Co-op has also been dismantled which is a sad dayfor multiplayer enthusiasts.
That said, old-schoolers should still digDynasty Warriors: Originsas it feels like a step in the right direction to getnew fans on board withDynasty Warriors. As for the weapons, players will find tons in the early hours through random drops. Players can get the basic versions of these weapons at various shops throughout the land, which are listed, but the following weapons are all randomized. Let’s go through some good abilities to look out for whether players can duplicate these findings or not.

7Battle Gauntlets +5
Boosting Attacks And Bravery
The Battle Gauntlets +5 are understandably a Gauntlet-type weapon inDynasty Warriors: Originswhich will essentially turn players intoa warrior monk. They can boost the attack power of normal attacks which is always nice to see in an RPG but the other two bonuses are even better. First, if players dodge an attack right before impact that’s called a Perfect Evade.
It doesn’t slow down time to the degree of Witch Time in theBayonettaseries but it’s still obvious when achieved. Completing a Perfect Evade with the Battle Gauntlets +5 equipped will boost damage too. Finally, these Gauntlets can increase how fast players acquire Bravery Points needed to use special attacks called Battle Arts.

6Crimson Orchids +6
Command The Battlefield Through Musou Attacks And Battle Arts
The Crimson Orchids +6 weapon is an example of a Wheel-type weapon which is also called Chakrams in other games.Axel from theKingdom Heartsseriesuses them, for example. The Crimson Orchids +6 can boost the attack power of Musou skills and Battle Arts which is always beneficial in a Musou game.
Bravery Points can be increased faster if players land a successful parry with an enemy which is a bit trickier to pull off with Wheels. Finally, it has the same Perfect Evade boost as the Battle Gauntlets +5.

5Dragon Spear +4
A Chance To Get A Snack
The Dragon Spear +4 is a spear-type weapon and another good one that can increase Musou attacks. It can also boost the strength of charged attacks which can be pulled off using the Triangle button onthe PS5 controller, or the Y button on the Xbox Series X/S controller.
Spear-based charged attacks are pretty decent, launching powerful strikes forward which are good for taking out officers. The best-attached ability though can give players Meat Buns, which can heal them. The more opportunities that give players a chance to heal, the better.

4General’s Sword +9
A Basic But Reliable List Of Buffs
The General’s Sword +9 is a normal sword-type weapon, the type that players begin with as The Wanderer isa skilled swordsman. The General’s Sword +9 has a basic list of boosts that can increase charged attack power, normal attack power, and the ability to gain Bravery Points faster. The newest ability to list here will boost the strength of assaults in the game.
Assaults are tactical moves players can use on a mission that can involve other allied officers or random soldiers. They’re harder to come by in the early hours of the game, but once players get bigger squads to follow The Wanderer, the more opportunities they can perform assaults.

3Gnashing Fang +8
A Reduction In Charge Time
The Gnashing Fang +8 is a Podao-type weapon which is like a heavier, two-handed sword. These types of swords are strong offensively but they lack speed. This example can boost normal attacks and Musou abilities like many others on here. It can specifically be used against random soldiers to slay them easier too, getting a bigger kill count.
For those unaware, for every hundred soldiers killed, threeskill points can be gained inDynasty Warriors: Originswhich can be used on the game’s skill tree. Finally, the last good ability attached can decrease the time it takes to use charged attacks and Podaos have devastating ones.

2Red Rush Staff +8
Favoring Offense Over Defense
The Red Rush Staff +8 is a staff-type weapon, or fans of theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesmay be more familiar with the name Bo Staff, as that’s the type of weapon Donatello uses. Whatever it’s called doesn’t matter as the staff weapons are ridiculously fast and they cover a wide area of attack. The Red Rush Staff +8 can boost the strength of assault attacks and damage done to random soldiers.
It also has the Meat Bun drop booster like the Dragon Spear +4 has which is convenient since both weapon types can reach further than most. Finally, the Red Rush Staff +8 has an example of an ability that will detract from the player. The overall attack power will be boosted in exchange for dropping their defense. The amount is negligible, so players just have to be better at dodging while the Red Rush Staff +8 is equipped.

1Twin Eagle Pikes +8
Mastering Damage Through Bravery
The Twin Eagle Pikes +8 are twin pike weapons, which can be a bit tricky to use. They’re fast, but a bit clumsy at the same time and players will know the exact feeling once they obtain them in the game. Wonkiness aside, the Twin Eagle Pikes +8 can boost Bravery Points with parries which are just as awkward to perform as the Wheels.
They have the Perfect Evade bonus like the Battle Gauntlets +5 and they can boost soldier damage too. Overall, nothing new for the abilities already listed here, but they are a good set of twin pike weapons for players who enjoy using them inDynasty Warriors: Origins.
