Marvel’s Spider-Man 2has officially made the leap to the PC after only initially releasing on the PlayStation 5. Despite a somewhat shaky launch, players are already having tons of fun with mods for the game on the PC.
One particularly popular kind of mod are the ones that change up Spider-Man’s suit. There are78 suitsavailable for Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the game as it is, but modders have created even more alternatives for players to enjoy.
With this in mind, the following examples are particularly noteworthy suit-based mods forSpider-Man 2. Mild spoiler warning for some of the plot events ofSpider-Man 2, as some of the mods that will be discussed relate to some key narrative points.
1Flying Wings

One of the most enjoyable gameplay features ofSpider-Man 2is the web wings, which let Peter and Miles temporarily transform their suit into a wingsuit so that they can glide for a short amount of time. The gliding mechanics allow players to traverse New York City in record time from the sky. However, the temporary nature of the mechanics is more than a little frustrating, though understandable for the game’s logic.
This mod allows players to glide for an unlimited amount of time, which is fun, but also makes city traversal much easier. Players can also pick the speed that they travel at, so there are plenty of opportunities to leisurely glide or dart around at speed if they so choose.
2Film Accurate Raimi Black Webbed Suit Recolor

The black Spider-Man Venom suit from Sam Raimi’s 2007 film adaptationSpider-Man 3isavailable in the base gameofSpider-Man 2. However, modder Lordkanik makes some alterations to the suit with this mod.
The colors have been darkened significantly with this mod, making it much more accurate to the movie suit. The in-game suit is a little lighter, so this version feels more authentic to the look from the film.
3Update Spider-Man Web Of Shadows Pack

Fans of the 2008Spider-MangameSpider-Man: Web of Shadowsare sure to love this next mod, which replaces certain suits inSpider-Man 2with those inWeb of Shadows. Modder DHedge manages to get theWeb of Shadowssuits into the game by importing the models. The suits that get replaced are the Advanced Suit, the Symbiote Suit, and the Classic Black Suit.
The Advanced Suit is replaced with theWeb of ShadowsRed Suit, the Symbiote Suit with theWeb of ShadowsBlack Suit, and the Classic Black Suit with the CleanerWeb of ShadowsBlack Suit (though this does not have the symbiote texture).
4More Accurate TASM2

Much like the aforementioned black Venom Spider-Man suit from the Raimi movie, this is another mod that takes a canon suit already in the game and tunes it up to make it more realistic. The suit in question for this mod is theSpider-Man suitthat Andrew Garfield wore when he played Peter Parker inThe Amazing Spider-Manfilms.
Like the Raimi suit, there is a version of this outfit inSpider-Man 2, but modder FNSpd has made it more accurate to the film. This is definitely one that fans of Garfield’s take on the character will want to download.
5Venom Wings
Toward the end of the game, Venom sprouts an awesome pair of wings. Players can’t actually play as Venom when he gets his wings in the main game, but this mod changes that. It allows players to use Venom’s demon-like appendages, as it changes the default web wings that Spider-Man uses to glide intoVenom’s wings.
Players can change the speed which they glide when using the wings, much like with the aforementioned unlimited gliding mod (also created by modder okangel).
6Corduroy Peter Suit Replacer

For players looking for something a little more casual, then this next mod is an absolute must. The mod replaces one suit of the players choosing with Peter Parker’s casual look. This outfit features a corduroy jacket and a pair of jeans, so it’s about as casual as it’s possible to be.
While this might not be the best suit for those who still care about keeping Peter’s identity a secret, players can still get a laugh out of watching plain clothes Peter swinging around the city.
7Spider-Punk (Across The Spider-Verse)

The animatedSpider-Versemovies are some of themost popularSpider-Manfilmsin recent times, so it’s no surprise that there are mods that change Spider-Man’s suits to better reflect the characters from the film (although there are in-game suits that reference the movies too).
This mod does this particularly well, taking the Spider-Punk suit from the game and transforming it into the outfit that Spider-Punk (also known as Hobie Brown) from the animated movie universe wears inAcross the Spider-Verse. Hobie was a popular character fromAcross The Spider-Verse, so this mod is sure to appeal to fans of the movie and the game alike.
8Venom As Inventory Slot
There is a chance to play as Venom inSpider-Man 2, but it’s only during a particular portion of the game. For those who want to play Venom more frequently, this is the perfect mod. With this mod, the Classic suit in the suits menu is replaced with Venom’s model, so players can use Venom as though he were Peter or Miles if they equip the Classic suit.
The only issue that this mod has is that it can crash if players try to do a point launch, as the game cannot handle Venom’s model attempting to move in such a way. If that isn’t an issue, then players are sure to enjoy this mod, especiallybig Venom fans.
