7The War Of The Roses

The War Between York And Lancaster Has Yet To Be Explored

TwoAssassin’s Creedgames have been set in England so far, withAssassin’s Creed Syndicatebeing set in London in 1868, andAssassin’s Creed Valhallataking place in the British Isles in 873CE. This leaves scope to explore another huge point in English history, the War of the Roses.

This series of civil wars took place between the houses of York and Lancaster over the course of three decades, both vying for control of the English throne. Over the course of the war, fans could see plots that involve political intrigue, and epic battles and eventually lead into the reign of Henry VIII, who has been described as a Templar affiliate in past entries in the series. This makes the War of the Roses apotentially great setting for anAssassin’s Creedgame.

6Ancient Rome

Ancient Rome’s History Of Assassination Makes It An Ideal Setting

The city of Rome has featured in separateAssassin’s Creedgames without getting its own game. In Ezio’sAssassin’s Creedgames andAssassin’s Creed Origins, the city of Rome has had a part to play, but a full entryset during the fall of the Roman Empirecould lead to one of the best games in the franchise.

With so much to explore, including the rise of Attila the Hun, political plotting and backstabbing, and assassinations along the way. AnAssassin’s Creedgame set in Ancient Rome could be aninteresting area for the franchise to fully explore.

5The Indian Revolt

A Rebellion Against The British East India Company

TheAssassin’s Creedfranchisehad visited India previously withAssassin’s Creed Chronicles: Indiaduring the Anglo-Sikh Wars, around the same time a rebellion was taking place against the British East India Company. With India in the 19th century having multiple wars and rebellions against British rule, this would be a perfect setting for a full-lengthAssassin’s Creedadventure.

With the Assassin’s Order already being present in the time period, a game revolving around theuprising of the Indian people against British rulecould provide a great setting for the next entry in the franchise. AnAssassin’s Creedgame set in the 19th century would also provide excellent options for parkour as well as narrative, making it one of the biggest moments in history not yet fully explored.

4The Spanish Inquisition

A Darker Story That Could Interlink With Ezio’s Adventures

The Spanish Inquisitionbecame the setting for theAssassin’s Creedmovie, released in 2016, and still has plenty of potential for a mainlineAssassin’s Creedgame. The Spanish Inquisition was set up by the Catholic Church to punish heresy against their religion which led to countless deaths across Spain, Portugal, and other Spanish colonies.

As this has already been explored in the movie but never in the mainline games, there are huge open areas to be explored, with a dark story to explore. This makes the Spanish Inquisition a great setting for theAssassin’s Creedfranchise to explore.

3The Great Northern War

A War Between The Swedish Empire And Russia

Assassin’s Creedhas already explored some areas of Scandinavia withAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and Russia inAssassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, this Great Northern War could provide a great setting for a game in the franchise. This 21-year-long war all began with the Russian Tsar, Peter I,aiming to take land from the young Swedish King, Charles XII.

With action able to take place on both land and sea between both armies, with the Assassin Order operating from the shadows, with snowy tundra and caves to explore and huge battles to feature. This makes the Great Northern War a big moment in history thatAssassin’s Creedhasn’t been explored yet.

2The Anglo-Chinese War

A Trade Dispute That Led To Naval War

TheAssassin’s Creedfranchise briefly visited China during the Imperial erainAssassin’s Creed Chronicles. However, a game set during the Anglo-Chinese wars in the 19th century could provide an incredible backdrop for an entry into the franchise.

The Anglo-Chinese wars began as a trade dispute that escalated into an all-out naval war, with narcotics being smuggled into China in an attempt to derail the economy. A story set in this tumultuous period of history offers a place for the Assassins to fight for good against the Templar order looking to take control. This makes the Anglo-Chinese War an interesting moment in historynot yet explored in theAssassin’s Creedfranchise.

1Spanish Conquest Of The Aztec Empire

The Fall Of The Aztec Empire Would Make A Great New Setting

One area of history that has been untouched by theAssassin’s Creedfranchise is the Aztec Empire. The Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire took place from 1519 to 1521, resulting in the fall of the Aztec Empire.

This area of history is ripe for exploration, with the potential of having the protagonist of the game either fighting for the Aztec Empire or against them as a Spanish Conquistador or an indigenous ally of the Spanish. This would allow for an exploration of South America that has yet to featurein anAssassin’s Creedgame. This makes the Spanish Conquest of the Aztecs the biggest moment yet to be explored by theAssassin’s Creedfranchise.
