The story inBlazBlue: Entropy Effectis quite a ride, but it’s interesting to know that there actually is more than one ending that players can find depending on important choices they make. As players progress through various quests, there are important points where dialogue choices made affect upcoming steps. Here’s how to unlock the “Happy” or “True” ending to the story.
First, ensure to start unlockingPhenomena Fragments.To unlock the appearance of Phenomena Fragments on your first playthrough,talk to Marvinin the hub. Marvin is located on the balcony area of the top floor. Once he is introduced, there will be some dialogue that plays out, and then he will move away from his current spot.
The Key Requirements For The True Ending
The biggest part to unlocking the true ending to the story is to make sure tospeak to all NPCsin the hub areas. There are several important NPCs inBlazBlue: Entropy Effect,but the big ones to make note of areMarvin, CAM, the “orb,” and IO.
To see the true ending, it’s important tostop at the quest called “Last Words.”Progressing past this quest may prevent players from completing important Phenomena viewings and completing dialogue options. Once Last Words is finished, certain choices may be locked.
Important Phases of Mind Upload
Completing Mind Uploads progresses the main story to different phases. It is important to do certain tasks before each phase of the Mind Upload quest, because completing a Mind Upload phase will advance the story beyond a point wherechoices can be locked out. So, before advancing to new levels of the story, verify to finish each of the most important steps below.
Before finishing Mind Upload I with IO, progress certain parts of the story with two important steps. First,find Marvinon the 3rd floor of the hub standing on a platform through a door. Then, visitthe orb, who is found all the way to the left on the 2nd floor of the hub. Talk to both of these NPCs, then you may progress up to Mind Upload IV.
When players reach Mind Upload IV, there is a very important step at this point. When you go to IO to complete the upload,do not expose the guide.IO will ask the player about a guide to ACE. Select the choice:“I got that wrong…It’s all I have to say. It’s gotta be Stan.”
Phenomena Guide
Important parts of the story include experiencing and replaying certain Phenomena. Phenomena are unlocked as the player defeats bosses duringMind Trainingsessions, or just playing runs. Each boss you defeat will have a chance to drop aPhenomena Fragment. After unlocking a Phenomena, each of these events will be present in the hub areas. The Guide will call the player at certain points and then these events will play out. While in these events, you need to select specific choices to unlock the true ending.
Recycle
Go to the balcony on the 3rd floor of the hub area where you first met Marvin and talk to the robot with a triangular head. This is CAM. Speak to him, and then go find Stan and speak to him at least once.
Recording #1
During the Phenomena event “Recording #1,” find Marvin and speak to him about his wife Zoe. After initiating this conversation, call the Guide to speak about next steps. To call the Guide, enter the menu and navigate to “Info,” then to “Voicemail,” and finally “Mind Upload.” Click the option “Call Back” to contact the Guide.
Coverage and Homecoming
During these quests, find CAM on the balcony and speak to him. Make sure to find him once during each quest, and then continue.
Overdrive and Death
During “Overdrive,” find Marvin in his usual spot and speak to him once. The most important choice is in the next quest, “Death,” where players must return to Marvin andtell him that Zoe has died.This is acrucial choice.Failing to tell Marvin the truth will lock players out of further choices.
Stronger Humans
Return to CAM’s usual spot and start speaking to him. Make sure to tell CAMabout the mind linkswhen the choice comes up. The dialogue should be“Have you heard of mind links?”The following choice should be“Like last time I heard it from the orb.”If players choose to converse more with CAM, they can navigate to the correct choice by selecting“Just like last time, I heard it from the orb.”
Project Fledgling
Several steps need to be taken in “Project Fledgling.” First, on the call with the Guide, pick the option that says“Okay.”If you want further context and explanations on the situation, pick“What makes you think I will help you?”Then, at the next option, pick“Fine, I promise you.”
Find CAM on the balcony and speak to him. Make sure that the quests “Disagreement” and “Separate Ways” are finished; otherwise, CAM will not be present.The last stepis to find the cleaning robot by the big screen on the first floor and speak to it. Then, return to CAM and speak to him one last time. When he asks for a choice,pick the first or second option.Picking the third dialogue option will lock you out of the true ending.
Key
During “Key,” speak to the orb on the second floor area and select the dialogue option“There must be another way”when the choice comes up. After speaking with the orb, the Guide will call the player, and they must select the question“Is there no other way?”After that, pick the response“Perhaps I can find another way.”
Another Identity
Make sure to complete the quests “First Conversation” and “Another Identity” before returning to CAM and speaking with him on his balcony. Otherwise, this will lock the player into thebad ending route.
The Only Solution
This quest is optional, but it delivers extremely important context and extra dialogue about the story. If you want to find out more about the story, and especially CAM and IO, make sure to do this one.
The Final Steps
After completing all the Phenomena events and making the given choices, you can proceed with the final Mind Upload events and progress past “Last Words.” When you reach the final Mind Upload after speaking to IO and leaving his office, you will receive a final phone call from the Guide. After that, speak to the orb one last time. For the final scenes, make sure to speak to CAM on the way to see IO one more time. After that, the game’sfinal sceneswill happen.
