The good news came from Blizzard Community Specialist blizz_kaedi in a post made on the r/Competitiveoverwatch subreddit, which confirmed that the release of the Cyber DJ Lucio skin in the shop was an accident on the developer’s part. The post also confirmed that all players who purchased the skin have been automatically refunded. With some players having reported not yet seeing reimbursements of Overwatch Coins in their accounts, it’s possible that some players may simply need to wait a while for their refunds to take effect. In addition to refunds, the post also confirms that the new Flirty Flare Baptiste skin will also become available to all players as aTwitch drop-exclusiveOverwatch 2skinalongside Cyber DJ Lucio later in February.

Overwatch 2’s Upcoming Spotlight Event Will Offer More Than Just New Skins

Plenty of existingOverwatch 2skins have been made available for free via Twitch drops and other methods in the past, though this typically happens long after such skins are first released. Twitch drops are certainly nothing new forOverwatch 2either, with the Synthwave Lifeweaver skin recently being distributed along with the associated spray as part ofOverwatch 2’s mid-Season 14 Twitch dropcampaign.

The Cyber DJ skin, along with the Flirty Flare skin for Baptiste, will become available on February 12 as part oftheOverwatch 2Spotlight event, an ambitious new livestream event from Blizzard that aims to highlight much of the new content – and major gameplay updates – set to come to the game later this year. The event will also involve variousOverwatch 2creators showcasing some of these future features in livestreams, which fans will be able to watch to earn the new skins.
