Bosch Legacy’s Season 3 release date is officially announced

Bosch: Legacy’s season 3 release date has officially been set for March 27th, with 10 episodes streaming exclusively on Prime Video. It was previously revealed that the final season will be primarily based on two separateBoschtitles:The Black Ice, as well asDesert Star. Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) investigates a family’s disappearance, while Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) runs for District Attorney, andMaddie Bosch (Madison Lintz)works a case involving a string of violent robberies. There will be huge revelations aboutthe murder of Kurt Dockweiler, a mystery that has haunted the characters for years. Other characters are set to return as well, includingdetectives Crate and Barrel(Gregory Scott Cummins and Troy Evans, respectively),Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi(Stephen A. Chang), and Detective Reina Vasquez (Denise Sanchez). Michael Connelly, author of the Bosch books and executive producer onBosch: Legacy, expressed his gratitude, saying “What an amazing run it has been. I could not have asked for a better cinematic adaptation of my work.”

While fans will at least get to see a proper ending, the show’s cancelation has been a sticking point. Along with the fact thatAmazon seemed to be doing very little to promote Bosch: Legacy’s season 3, there was also the notion thatthe cancelation had been planned a long time ago. A planned spinoff of the showfeaturing Jerry Edgarwas also scrapped, though the Renee Ballard spinoff starring Maggie Q appears to still be moving forward, with Titus Welliver set to appear in three episodes. Together, they will work their way throughthe Library of Lost Souls.

Of course, with seven seasons of the originalBosch, plus the three seasons ofBosch: Legacy, fans might wonderwhat more there is to say about Harry Bosch. With so many titles, as well as one final outing that Michael Connelly has planned, there could be plenty, but unlessBosch: Legacywas able to find a new home on Netflix, this third season will truly be the end. Even though it seemed likeMichael Connelly and Titus Welliverhad big plans for the detective, Bosch may just have to close the book with one final case.

Bosch: Legacyis available to stream on Amazon Prime, with season 3 premiering on March 27th.
