Activision has extended theSquid Gameevent inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6andWarzoneuntil the beginning of Season 2, which kicks off on January 28.Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’sSquid Gameevent began on Friday, January 3, and brought with it plenty of new cosmetic items, modes, weapon blueprints, and more. While the event was originally scheduled to run for four weeks and end on Friday, January 24, Activision appears to have extended the event by a few extra days.
While both seasons ofSquid Gamehave been a massive success for Netflix, thenewCall of Dutyevent has been rather controversial. While many believed the pricing of theSquid Gameskins was too expensive, it was the newly introduced event pass that irritated players the most. When the event kicked off earlier this month,Call of Dutyplayers had the option to purchase a newSquid Gameevent pass for 1,100 COD Points. While there is also a free version of the pass available to all players, various cosmetic items such as the Front Man operator skin were locked behind the pass. With so many different microtransactions and battle passes already available inCall of Duty, fans believed this was a step too far.

Activision Extends Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Squid Game Event
Therewards inCall of Duty’s Squid Game event passcan be earned relatively quickly, as players simply need to earn a total of 356,000 XP to earn every reward. While this might sound like a lot, many players have already completed the pass after just a few days. But for those who have yet to unlock all of the available rewards, Activision has officially extended the event until January 28. While the studio has yet to make an official announcement regarding the extension, the in-game event tab now states that it will end in four days, which coincides with the release of Season 2 on January 28.
WhileCall ofDutyplayersare able to unlock newSquid Gameoperator skinsvia the new event pass, Activision has also released various store bundles during the duration of the event. The famous Pink Guards, Masked VIPs, and Young-Hee can all be purchased in separate bundles, while the Front Man, Player 115, and Player 006 operator skins are available via the event pass. Whether or not theSquid Gamebundles will remain in the store until Season 2 begins is currently unknown.
The event’s extension will give fans a few extra days to play some of the newSquid Game-themed modes such as Red Light, Green Light. It also gives players the opportunity to get their hands on the Front Man operator skin, which is the final reward for the premium event pass. Thenew skin caused quite the concern amongCall of Dutyplayerswhen it was first revealed, as many believed the fully blacked-out operator would be “pay-to-win,” similar to the Roze skin in the rebootedModern Warfareseries.
