How much screen time does Red Hulk have in Captain America: Brave New World?

Marvel Studios recently released a newCaptain America: Brave New Worldfeaturette that included a single new shot of Red Hulk. Notable scooperCryptic HD QUALITYresponded on Twitter by sharing a GIF and the caption, “How Marvel feels after showing 1 second of Red Hulk every 2 or 3 weeks because he’s barely in the film.” A newer scooper with the usernameThe Beyond Reporteralso commented on the matter, claimingRed Hulk’s one action scene will only last 4 minutes.

Most fans aren’t surprised to learn Red Hulk’s screen time will be limited. But user@ButchBoi5noted that they believe many people will leave the theater disappointed because Marvel Studios is marketingBrave New Worldas aCaptain America vs. Red Hulkfilm when it’s “obviously not.” Some responses on Twitter indicate this prediction is correct, as a handful of users are dismayed by the news, with user@MauBoatarguing Red Hulk’s prominence in the marketing amounts to false advertising. However, user@Janno7defendedCaptain America: Brave New Worldmarketing Red Hulk and argued that the character is a main drawn considering he is played by Ford.

Of course, those who have been keeping up with the film already knowCaptain America: Brave New World’s real villain is the Leader. Tim Blake Nelson reprises his role for the first time since 2008’sThe Incredible Hulk, which conclude with his character, Samuel Sterns, briefly shown transforming into the green-skinned supervillain. Causal moviegoers could be forgiven for not knowing The Leader is inCaptain America: Brave New World. The character has been hidden in trailers and only fully shown in promotional art and merchandise.

Considering the Leader is expected to be more of an intellectual foe than a physical one, it’s understandable that Marvel Studios would want to use Red Hulk forCaptain America: Brave New World’s climatic finale. Watching Red Hulk and Captain America fight is arguably the more visually exciting of the two options, even though the Leader has telekenitc powers in the comics that could make for a thrilling showdown. Of course,Captain America: Brave New Worldunderwent extensive reshootsas recently as November 2024, so it’s possible the information these scoopers have on Red Hulk’s role could have changed. There’s only 3 weeks left until fans find out.

Captain America: Brave New Worldwill be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
