Summary

Civilization 7’s development team is acknowledging complaints from the player community about the 4X strategy title and is already working to appease its fanbase. Changes coming toCivilization 7include improvements to the user interface and the addition of multiple features that have been present in previous entries in the series.

The officialrelease date forCivilization 7is set for February 11, but players who ordered the Deluxe or Founders editions were granted access a few days early, starting on February 5. However, there have also been multiple complaints from players, leavingCivilization 7with Mixed review scores on Steam, as only 51 percent of its player reviews include a thumbs up. In response to early player feedback, Firaxis Games has already started working to address some of the biggest issues that have been bugging players. This begins with improving the UI, which an article on the news page of the game’s official website states is the team’s “top priority.” Developers are still busy taking in feedback about the UI, but they’ve already started working to upgrade certain aspects, like the readability of maps, and will continue to update players as more changes are made.

In addition to the highly demanded UI fixes, Firaxis is also working to implement some features that were included in previous games, as their omission from the newest entry has been the second-largest point of contention among upset fans. One of these features that fans seem to want most is morenew map options inCivilization 7, as plenty of players leaving negative user reviews have complained about the lack of customization when generating maps. The developers plan to address this issue and another on the customization front, as they will reinstate the ability to rename cities and religions to players' liking.

There will also be several upgrades to the list ofmultiplayer features inCivilization 7. These additions include the option to form teams in multiplayer games and a hotseat feature that allows multiple players to take turns on the same console or PC. Additionally, players will be able to set up both single and multiplayer games to feature just one or two of the games' ages if they wish. A hotfix is planned for March to address some features the developers had already been aware of, so fans can probably expect Firaxis to begin making changes based on player feedback after the release of Patch 1.1.0.
