Rune Giant is the newest Epic Card to join the arena inClash Royale. It’s unlocked at the Jungle Arena (Arena 9), but players can claim one for free at the shop as part of theRune Giant Launch offer. The offer is active until January 17th, 2025, after which the only way to unlock it would be from chests or the in-game shop.
While unlocking the Rune Giant is simple enough, winning games requires players to understand what the card brings to your deck and figure out the best way to utilize it. That’s where we come in! In this guide, we will showcase some of the best Rune Giant decks that you might want to try out after unlocking the new card inClash Royale.
Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview
Rune Giantis an Epic cardinClash Royalethat targets enemy Towers and defensive buildings. At tournament standards, the troop has 2803 Hitpoints and a Medium movement speed. She deals 120 damage to the opponent’s buildings, which is considerably greater than that of an Ice Golem but almost half of the damage that a Giant does.
What sets the Rune Giant apart, however, is not her tanking abilities, but rather the unique Enchant effect that she offers. After deploying the troop, the Rune Giant will enchant two of the other troops closest to her, allowing them to deal bonus damage with every third hit. Her unique ability to buff up your troops makes her extremely deadly in certain card combinations.
On top of that, the card only costs four elixirs to deploy, meaning you’ll be able to cycle her easily without worrying about draining your elixir bar. With fast-firing troopslike the Dart Goblin,you’ll be able to proc the effect multiple times. Troops with a slow attack speed can also take advantage of the Enchant effect if they use it smartly.

That being said, the Rune Giant doesn’t have enough Hitpoints to make it a full-blownwin condition like the Golem. It’s better suited as a buffing support troop that can distract enemy troops and tank a few tower hits for your other units when you’re building a push.

When you think of Goblin Giant, the card that automatically comes to mind for most players is Sparky. And yes, the Goblin Giant Sparky isa solid beatdown deckeven now, but if you plan on utilizing the Rune Giant, then consider trying out this variant with the Cannon Cart.

Elixir Collector
Despite being a beatdown deck, the Goblin Giant Cannon Cart has a solid defense that can withstand just about any type of attack. Whether you’re going up againsta cycle deck masteror against siege decks, you’ll have plenty of ways to defend and build up a counter-push.
The two main troops you’ll look to buff up with the Rune Giant on this deck are the Cannon Cart and the Goblin Giant. Remember, the Spear Goblins on the back of the Goblin Giant also get the bonus damage. Since the Cannon Cart is tough to take off the field, it can deal a lot of damage to the enemy troops and the Tower if you manage to get a connection.
The deck also has an Elixir Collector, and you should look to get as many of them online as possible. With both the Lumberjack and Rage spell, you’ll have a second and third way to boost your Goblin Giant. But since the deck doesn’t have any air defense apart from Evo Bats, you’ll have a tough time getting awin against Lava Hound decks.

Battle Ram 3M
It’s been a while since the Three Musketeers have been considered a “meta card” inClash Royale. It’s an expensive troop, and while the DPS of the Three Musketeers is insane, it’s pretty easy to counter with a Fireball. But now that the Rune Giant is here, some players are finding good success with this Three Musketeers deck variation.

Although this is a Three Musketeer deck, it plays mostlylike a Pekka Bridge Spam. You’ve got three Bridge Spam cards: Bandit, Royal Ghost, and the Evo Battle Ram. In the early stage of the game, you’ll want to keep up the pressure with these cards to ensure your opponent has to spend elixirs to defend.
In the meantime, you’ll be pumping up with the Elixir Collector and steadily gain an Elixir lead by the time the game enters the Double Elixir stage. You don’t want to use the Three Musketeer at all during the Single Elixir stage unless your opponent messes up, and you can get good value out of it.
For your defense, your main combo is the Rune Giant and the Hunter. The Rune Giant will tank and distract the enemy troops while your Hunter cleans everything up with the Enchant Buff. For your spells, you’ll only have the Evo Zap, which can help you get a solid Battle Ram connection on the enemy tower.
This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Hog EQ Firecracker
The Hog EQ Firecracker is currently thestrongest Hog Rider deckin the meta. As it turns out, the addition of Rune Giant also had a huge impact on the overall effectiveness of this deck in theClash Royaleleaderboard. Currently, it’s a strong, well-rounded deck that can easilyhelp you get to Ultimate Champion.

Hog Rider
The Hog EQ Firecracker deck plays pretty much the same way as the normal one. The only real difference here is that, instead of the Valkyrie or Mighty Miner, you’re using the Rune Giant. While this removes the champion cycle from the equation if you wereusing the Mighty Miner, the Enchant buff from the Rune Giant pushes your Firecracker to the next level.
The interaction between Firecracker and Rune Giant is pretty much broken, allowing the Firecracker to deal massive damage with every single pellet as she splashes on her third hit. Similar to the Hunter, the Firecracker can stop any sort of push on its track if you manage to get the Enchant shot off.
This deck also features the Earthquake as its main spell, which means you’ll be able to get massive Tower damage in the late game if your Hog Rider is having trouble breaking through the defenses. Evo Skeletons, despite receiving a major nerf recently, is still one ofthe best evolution cardsto handle your defensive needs.
The Rune Giant certainly added an extra layer of strategy toClash Royale. Its unique way to buff up other troops will let players experiment with interesting card combos that they wouldn’t have considered otherwise.
