Now,Critical Roleis taking another big step towards helping the fire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The actual play group just announced a special, non-canon one-shot featuring the Bells Hells adventuring group from Campaign 3 will take place on Thursday, January 30. From now until the end of the special episode beginning at its normal time at 7 PM PST on Twitch, YouTube, and Beacon –Critical Role’s own streaming service– fans who donate to this charity drive can cast votes on which monsters, hazards, and other twists Bells Hells will encounter on their adventure.

Those who vote will be able to conjure cataclysmic spells like Sickening Radiance, Maelstrom, Insect Plague, and even Meteor Swarm at theCritical Rolecast by donating funds, and can throw terrifying monsters like the Froghemoth, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and even Ira Wendagoth, the Nightmare King, at the party. Donation milestones include other fun complications, such as a “Freaky Thursday” body swap, random inconvenient teleportation, or the summoning of extra allies or enemies during the show. The first five fans to donate $5,000 can even submit their own characters to appear during the game, played by none other thanCritical RoleGM and voice actor Matt Mercer.

Though the one-shot takes place on January 30, the charity drive will continue raising funds all the way through February 28. Outside administration fees and a 10% emergency fund allocation, the rest of the money raised will be evenly split between the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund, the Latino Community Foundation, and the LA Fire Department Foundation.
