Date Everything!is primed to be one of the strangest dating simulators on the market. A new title published by Team17,Date Everything!allows players to date over 100 inanimate household objects, each of whom is a specific character with their own personality. And yes, these objects even understand the concept of rejection, so any gamer who wants to understand how it feels to be rejected by a couch can finally experience that here.

It’s far and away one of the most bizarre ideas one could possibly create for a dating simulator, but it’s that commitment to its bizarre nature that couldmakeDate Everything!a fresh new dating simulatorexperience. The game is set to launch very soon, and Team17 couldn’t have picked a more fitting time to release the title. Even so, there is a double-edged sword here, as its release date could be a bit of a detriment to it.

Date Everything!’s Release Is A Double-Edged Sword

Date Everything! Coming On Valentine’s Day Is Fitting

Originally,Date Everything!was supposed to launch on July 04, 2025, arriving just in time for Halloween. The game was instead delayed to its current release date,a much more fitting February 14. While the game is content-complete and more than likely could’ve been released in October, the development team at Sassy Chap Games made the decision to delay the project to focus on polishing its 3D landscapes.

Of course, this delay means that the game will be released on Valentine’s Day, which couldn’t be a more perfect time to kick back and enjoy a dating simulator. In today’s gaming landscape, there is certainly no shortage of dating simulators, and these kinds of games fit perfectly for a holiday centered around celebrating love. Of course,Date Everything!’s way of celebrating lovewill certainly be unconventional, but it will still be a natural fit for a Valentine’s Day release.

Plenty Of February Games Could Stifle Date Everything!

With that said, the February release ofDate Everything!could prove to be a bit hit-or-miss. While the Valentine’s Day release is certainly appropriate, the game is set to launch into a prettycrowded landscape of new releases in February. A smaller, self-published game likeDate Everything!could fall by the wayside with so many other massive titles fighting for gamers’ attention and gameplay hours.

Between games likeKingdom Come: Deliverance 2,Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, andMonster Hunter Wildsreleasing in February, gamers will certainly be spoiled for choice among major new releases. Gamers will also have a few new re-releases in February asTomb Raider 4-6 RemasteredandYu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collectionwill offer plenty of options for those looking for a bit of nostalgia. It’s also worth pointing out thatDate Everything!’s February 14 release puts it right betweenmassively anticipated titles inCivilization 7andAvowed, placing it firmly between a rock and a hard place.

Date Everything! Plays To A Different Audience

It can be said, though, that this competition may not matter whenDate Everything!is ready to go. After all, these major titles are all part of totally different genres, and this new dating sim clearly aims for a different audience than these AAA titles. Furthermore, with no other dating simulators set to release in February,Date Everything!won’t have to face much competition within its genre, which should help it serve as smooth sailing upon its release.

The gaming landscape has never been more crowded for new releases, which makes it even harder for smaller indie titles to have a breakout. Even so,Date Everything!has an off-the-wall premiseand its Valentine’s Day release feels perfect for a dating simulator. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get swallowed up in all of the new releases and carves out its own niche among a huge wave of new titles.
