In a recent Twitter post, Hideo Kojima shared a video of himself giving a bouquet of flowers to Shioli Kutsuna, who isplaying the character Rainy inDeath Stranding 2.According to Kojima, these flowers were a gift to Kutsuna after wrapping up her work on the game, which involved 3D scanning of her likeness, performance capture in Los Angeles, and both English ADR and Japanese voice recording in various locations. Kojima also extended a heartfelt “thank you” to Kutsuna for her hard work, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shioli Kutsuna Completes Her Work on Death Stranding 2
Not much is currently known about Rainy, the character thatShioli Kutsuna plays inDeath Stranding: On the Beach, but Hideo Kojima had previously used her likeness for a lighting test a few years ago. Marvel fans will likely recognize Kutsuna as the teen mutant Yukio inDeadpool 2, and she has had an extensive career in Japanese television. Joining Kutsuna inDeath Stranding 2’s new cast are famedMad Maxdirector George Miller (whose likeness is being used for the Drawbridge captain) and fellow filmmaker director Fatih Akin as the face of the talking puppet that accompanies Sam on his latest mission.
Fans are still waiting to find out when they canembark onDeath Stranding 2’s mission for themselves, but the fact that the game’s actors are wrapping up their work is a promising sign that the game is proceeding smoothly. However, it might still be some time beforeDeath Stranding 2: On the Beachis far enough along for an official release date.
