Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castleis probably the most awaited anime movie for now, and Sony Pictures might have accidentally dropped the debut date. Officially, the sequel to theDemon Slayeranimeis set to be released at some point in 2025.
Both Sony and Toho have high expectations regarding the film, believing it could surpassDemon Slayer: Mugen Trainand become the highest-grossing Japanese movie of all time. They are not entirely wrong in believing in the film’s potential, but this is by no means a simple task for any movie.

It might seem Sony just accidentally leaked the debut date on its French website. A page for an"Untitled Crunchyroll/Sony/Aniplex Event Film"was added, including the Jun 19, 2025 premiere date. It was listed as a “Wide” release (and on IMAX), so it should be something big. Sony has removed the page, but we can still find the original information when looking for it on Google.
Well, this information alone could be something else, despite that it is likely to beDemon Slayer, as Aniplex has no other release as big as it (it would hardly bean international roadshow forMadoka Magica, for example). However,German cinema chain CineStar is also listing the movie, with a synopsis that leaves no room to doubt: this is theInfinity Castlemovie.
CineStar also lists itas slated for May 24, 2025. It might be that the exact debut date is not totally set, or it’s just that it will be released at a different date in different countries and territories. That means the movie might premiere even sooner in some territories (and later in other ones).
What To Expect From Infinity Castle?
Higher Budget, Better Fights, Good Box Office
The movie is the first in a trilogy. However, this arc is not exactly the final arc, it’s like the first part of the final phase of the story. It comprises 44 chapters, and the next (and final) arc contains 22. So the trilogy is likely to cover only the Infinity Arc, and each movie should adapt 14–15 chapters. Just for comparison, theMugen Trainarc comprises 13 chapters, so it’s 100% possible to deliver a good movie covering around 15 chapters.
As movies, the wholeInfinity Castlearc will probably have a higher budget compared to the regular TV series, so this will beDemon Slayerwith even better qualityand, likely, better fight scenes, while leading the story to its true, final segment. Everyone is waiting to see howkind and loving Tanjirp Kamadowill rescue his sister once for all!
However, it’s best to be skeptical about the chances of the movies (any of them) becoming the highest-grossing box office. That’s totally possiblegiven the series' popularityand previous cinema roadshows, but also insanely hard to achieve. They are likely to have great box offices performances within the niche. Let’s just not take whatMugen Trainachieved for granted, as it was bigger than anyone could have expected.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibais available to stream subbed and dubbed on Crunchyroll (it’s also on Netflix on some countries and territories).
