Tengen Uzui, otherwise known as the “flamboyant” Sound Hashira, is a former member of the Demon Slayer Corps. Tengen played a vital role in the Entertainment Distirct Arc where he fought off two upper moon demons along with the help of Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke.

The art of Sound Breathing is inspired by Tengen’s heightened sense of hearing combined with a technique known as Musical Score and his powerful moves. Musical Score is a technique which Tengen uses to memorize an opponent’s pattern and reads into it like a sheet of music. By using his Musical Score technique, he is able to predict his opponent’s attacks and counter them more easily. The use of explosive attacks is also used when unleashing his Sound Breathing technique.Thanks to his ninja-like speed, Tengen is able to unleash his breathing techniques as a fury of attacks, using his incredible hearing abilities. Tengen is the only known user of the Sound Breathing Technique, and it can only be used with a specific set of weapons.

Tengen’s arsenal of weapons consists of two huge nunchucks with nichirn cleavers on either side held together by a long metal chain. He is able to swing the blades in wide arcs and use the chains' flexibility and range to land powerful attacks on his opponents. Because of the speed at which he swings these nichirn blades, it is near impossible to predict his attacks. This kind of attack is perfect for short-range attacks. He is also able tothrow the blades at an opponentif he wishes to launch a long-range attack on an opponent. Another weapon that Tengen keeps hidden are these tiny explosive balls, which are actually bombs capable of damaging the bodies of demons. Tengen uses these to distract an opponent during battle and then executes attacks with his blades. Another weapon Tengen carries on him are kunais which are also used to launch at opponents to either attack or distract them, his three wives also carry kunais on them in case the situation arises when they need them.

Tengen Uses His Massive Weapon In Creative Ways To Fight Off Demons
Just like most breathing techniques, the Sound Breathing technique also comes with its own forms. Most of his forms areseen during the battle withthe upper rank six demon, Gyutaro. The first form is known as First Form: Roar, a move where Tengen is able to lift both blades and smash them down with a powerful force on an opponent, the smash is so powerful that a thundering sound can be heard. The Fourth Form is known as Fourth Form: Constant Resounding Slashes, this moves requires Tengen to constantly spin the blades on his nunchucks and create a barrier between him and his opponent, this move can be used as both an offensive and defensive attack.
The fifth and final form is known as Fifth Form: String Performance, this is an offensive attack that also requires rotating the blades at high speeds and charging at an opponents. The continuous slashes make it difficult for an opponent to find an opening in this attack, making it a powerful offensive move. Because of the large size of his nichirin cleavers, Tengen is able to get more range when it comes to attacks. Thedestructive nature of Sound Breathingmakes it one of the most powerful breathing techniques in the Demon Slayer series and is perfect for Tengen’s personality and abilities.
