Summary
During its Episode Heresy Act 1 livestream, Bungie reveals a newDestiny 2collaboration event with theStar Warsfranchise, bringing new armor and cosmetic items to the game. It was a big day forDestiny 2fans as Bungie finally pulled the curtain back on the first act of Episode Heresy and the long awaited return of the Dreadnaught.
Prior to Bungie’s livestream event, the studio has been sharing plenty of sandbox related changes coming toDestiny 2on February 4 when Episode Heresy launches. While keeping the narrative and gameplay loop under wraps, fans have gotten a good look at ability changes, a huge update to Trials of Osiris, and even oneDestiny 2exotic weapon getting a massive buff. However, the livestream finally filled in some gaps, including the new Nether activity, weapons, as well as a special collaboration.

In a final announcement duringBungie’s January 28 livestream, the team confirmed thatDestiny 2’s latest collaboration is with none other thanStar Wars. The highlight of the reveal was three different armor sets, one for each class. When the cosmetics become available during the launch of Episode Heresy on February 4, Hunters get the Covert Ranger Set, which seems to take inspiration from Death Troopers. Warlocks can get the Royal Protector Set, which is inspired by Imperial Royal Guard. Finally, Titan’s get the Shock Enforcer Set, which is very clearly inspired by the classic Stormtrooper armor.
Destiny 2 Adding Star Wars Cosmetics During Episode Heresy
While the armor sets may be the biggest piece of this collaboration for most fans, the collaboration has even more content. Specifically, players can pick up a new ghost shell that turns it into the second Death Star fromStar Wars: Return of the Jedi, complete with a little green laser firing. Naturally, players will likely need to useDestiny 2’s premium currency known as Silverto purchase these items instead of Bright Dust.
Over the past few years, collaborations have increasingly become a major part ofDestiny 2’s premium offerings. While it may not quite be on the level of other live service titles likeFortnite, Bungie has already partnered with a wide variety of IPs and franchises to bring cosmetics and armor sets to the game. In fact,Destiny 2’s most recent crossover involvedStreet Fighter 6, adding a Blanka helmet, Ghost Shells based on Ryu, Chun-li, and Cammy, finisher moves, as well as one emote that references one of the franchise’s iconic minigames.
