Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Impacted by SAG-AFTRA Strike
Inside theweekly blog, Bungie revealed that certain voice lines will be silent as a result of the actors not being available due to thecurrent SAG-AFTRA strike. Bungie declined to provide any details about which characters are impacted, or just how much this issue will be happening in-game, but added some workarounds that players can do. While subtitles will be enabled by default during these silent sections, players can utilize some of the game’s other accessibility options like text size, color, and more to make the text easier to read.
Without a resolution in sight, it appears more games are going to be seeing similar issues going forward.Genshin Impact’s version 5.3 releasesaw numerous characters lacking an English voice over, with reports thatHonkai: Star Railcould potentially follow. With issues like pay increases and protection over AI being major components of this strike, many are hoping the two sides can come to some sort of agreement.
