TheDestiny 2Sundered Doctrine dungeon is now available to play. The latest content addition toDestiny 2arrives alongside a themed contest, which will allow one highly skilled team to net a unique reward.
While Bungie’s hit live-service shooter has long employed a traditional season-based content model, the publisher pivoted away from this distribution strategy with The Final Shape. Debuted in June 2024, this expansion adopted an episodic content format. The Final Shape Episode 2: Revenant debuted another change byreleasing all of itsDestiny 2story content at once. Episode 3: Heresy continued this practice in early February 2025.
As part of Heresy’s Act 1, Bungie has expanded the list ofDestiny 2dungeonswith the addition of Sundered Doctrine, which became available on February 7. The dungeon will see Hive god Savathûn guide Guardians through Rhulk’s Pyramid Ship. As per usual, players can expect to tackle both enemy waves and puzzles over the course of the new activity. In terms of mobs, Sundered Doctrine features a combination of Hive and Dread enemies.
Destiny 2 Launches Sundered Doctrine Dungeon Race
Bungie launched anotherDestiny 2Dungeon Raceto commemorate the release of Sundered Doctrine. The official event challenges players to complete the newly debuted activity with the Contest Mode enabled. Playing in Contest Mode means doing without the Auto-loading Holster Legendary perk and the Lord of Wolves shotgun. Class-specific Exotic Glaives are also disabled in this mode, together with Microcosm and the Auto-loading Holster perk. Ditto for the Volatile Marksman Artifact Mod Boost and Solipsism’s Spirit of the Filaments and Spirit of the Necrotic perks.
The firstDestiny 2teamto finish the ongoing race and have their achievement verified by Bungie will receive a customized trophy. Participating players need to be at least 13 years old to qualify for the reward, according to theofficial rulesof the ongoing contest. Meanwhile, anyone who manages to complete a Contest Mode run through Sundered Doctrine in the first 48 hours of the new dungeon’s release will get a guaranteed Exotic weapon drop and a special emblem for their efforts. Completing the dungeon in Contest Mode will unlock Normal Mode.
Beating the new dungeon by 9:59 AM PDT on May 6 will provide players with access to a Bungie Rewards offer to purchase a Sundered Doctrine merch pack, including a pin, dungeon bracelet, and a work shirt. An opportunity to buy a standalone Sundered Doctrine Title Pin is locked behind the same requirement. Based on Bungie’s previously shared roadmap, Sundered Doctrine is the first and only dungeon thatDestiny 2will receive in 2025.
