Thanks in part to the relative simplicity of theSquid Gameguard costume, Vex8333 used Hunter armor pieces with a casual aesthetic for their costume. The Streetwise Grips and Vest from theBungie 30th Anniversary packform the top half of the jumpsuit, while the military pants and boots provided by the Seventh Seraph Strides further the simple, uniform look. The low-profile Refugee Cloak does away with the cape Hunters often wear, making it seem like a natural part of the “jumpsuit.“To complete the ensemble, Vex8333 used the Icarus Drifter Mask, which, when colored by the Erebos Glance Shader, looks just like theSquid Gameguards' face mask, which is entirely black except for a bright white shape.
Destiny 2fans were greatly amused by the creative costume, responding withSquid Gamequotesand memes. One commenter noticed that the mask shape used by Vex8333’s costume is an “X,” declaring that this character must be the “Secret X Soldier” that turns theSquid Gameguards into “PlayStation guards,” referencing the fact that, with the addition of a “cross,” the face masks worn by the guards replicate the different button symbols used by PlayStation controllers.
