The Unique Items added inDiablo 4’s Season of Witchcrafthave already started shaking up the meta, and none have been quite as successful as Kessime’s Legacy Unique Pants. These pants are used by many players to buff their ultimate, Blood Wave, as well as keying a key gear item for the season’s top build.
However, it’s unlikely that players will get this item by chance. It is much more effective to farm it from ladder bosses. Keep reading to learn more about which boss to target farm for Kessime’s Legacy, which builds use the item, and what makes these pants so powerful.

Kessime’s Legacy: Affixes and Unique Effects
Kessime’s Legacy alters the behavior of the Necromancer’s Blood Wave, making it spawn two waves which travel towards you. This gathers enemies and deals large amounts of damage. In addition to its unique effect, the item also boasts powerful stats for Blood builds, such as damage reduction while Fortified and a chance for Blood Wave to deal double damage.
Kessime’s Legacy Pants Stats
Effects On Blood Wave (in-game description)
Blood Wave forms a wave on each side of you. Both waves converge at your feet, pulling in all surrounding enemies and exploding for [x] damage. Each wave hit causes enemies to take [5–10]% more damage from your Blood Waves, up to [150–300]%.
How To Get Kessime’s Legacy
Kessime’s Legacy, like most Uniques, can drop from almost any activity once the player reaches level 60. However, two activities are more likely to drop these unique pants:
The ease with which players can farmExquisite BloodoverMurmuring Obols, as well as the more reliable drop chance, means thatkilling Lord Zir is typically the better strategyfor getting these pants.

How To Summon Lord Zir
Lord Zir is summoned by sacrificing Exquisite Blood (farmed primarily from the Blood Maiden in Helltides) at the altar in the Darkened Way. The Darkened Way is located in the Gale Valley region of the Fractured Peaks.
Builds That Use Kessime’s Legacy
The most popular build to use Kessime’s Legacy is, of course, theShadow Blood Wave Necromancer. This build relies heavily on the stats from Kessime’s Legacy, to the point where the build wouldn’t exist without the item. As a result of the modifications that Kessime’s makes to Blood Wave, and the high damage of the ability, this build has excellent AoE damage, but can struggle against enemies that cannot be pulled (such asDiablo 4’s bosses).
