The movie released in Japan last year, and is now also set to have an international release in theaters around the world. One of the biggest premiers will be in New York City, where not only will the film screen, but the director, Naoko Yamada, will be in attendance.

This special premiere will be on January 21st, 2025, at the Japan Society in New York City.The Colors Withinwill then come to other theaters in America from January 24th. The Colors Withinis a new, originalanime moviethat released in Japan in August 2024, and is coming to theaters in America at the end of January. It is not connected to any existing anime series, which means that you can watch it without any prior knowledge needed.The Colors Withinhas been created by a cast of huge names in the anime industry, including scriptwriter Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!), and with music by kensuke ushio (Chainsaw Man). The opening song for the movie, “in the pocket,” was performed by Mr. Children.

“The story centers on Totsuko, a high school girl who can see the “colors” of the emotions in people’s hearts. She attends a mission school in Nagasaki. In order to keep her friends and family from feeling dark feelings, she worries, reads situations, and even lies to smooth things over. At an antique bookshop in the corner of town, she meets a beautiful woman with an incredibly beautiful color and a music-loving boy trying to put together a band. The story follows these three sensitive people who gather together to play in a band.”

With Director Naoko Yamada as a Guest
The Colors Withinwill have a special screening a few days before its theatrical release in America on January 21st, 2025. The screening will be held at the Japan Society, located on E 47th Street in New York City. The Japan Society regularly does communityoutreach to teach about Japanese culture, both traditional and modern, and often hosts special events like this one.
Naoko Yamada will also attend this special screening, and she will give an introduction before the movie begins. After it concludes, she will also hold a special Q&A session. In addition to attending the premiere ofThe Colors Within, Yamada will also do a special autograph signing session at the New York branch of Kinokuniya book store on January 24th at 6:30pm. This gives fans of her work not one but two chances to see her in person.
The Colors Withinhas been licensed for international release not just in America, but also in the rest of North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and several countries in Europe. The movie will release with both a subtitled and English dubbed version in theaters.The Colors Withinofficially comes to theaters in America with both versions on January 24th, 2025.
