Summary
Although it has been a huge part of the franchise since the early days ofDragon Ball, the Demon Realm was never really explored until recently. This is an incredibly massive land that exists outside the multiverse and even predates it, as it can be seen as the source of where the multiverse started in the first place. Because of this, the land is older than most things that exist within the franchise.
Due to its impossible age and vast area, the Demon Realm has aplethora of races and speciesthat call it home. Although most remain a mystery,Dragon Ball Daimahas done quite a great job of showing a lot of them, so let’s go over the various races and peoples of the Demon Realm and see why they are so special not only for the realm itself, but for the greater multiverse as well.

Story Arc
Fortuneteller Baba Saga
The Demons are theprimary residents of the Demon Realmand make up most of its population. In terms of appearance, they are largely similar to humans in proportion and build, though their main difference comes from their pointy ears and various skin tones, which range from some shades of blue to even red. Of all the races in this realm, the Demons have some of the most details revealed about them.
The Demon King fears no mortal!
Their hierarchy is based on a monarchical system that operates out of the First Demon World. At the current moment, the Demon King is the highest office in the realm, but the Dark King supersedes their authority, at least inSuper Dragon Ball Heroes. InDaima, it is revealed that there is a Supreme Demon King who stands above all others but there isn’t one in power right now.
King Piccolo Saga
The Namekians are one of the most iconic races in the entireDragon Ballseries as they have been a part of it for decades. Because of this, fans are quite familiar with them sincePiccolo is one of the franchise’s most important charactersand has been one of the universe’s greatest protectors. While the Namekians were originally believed to come only from Planet Namek, it turns out that they owe their true origin to the Demon Realm.
Don’t underestimate Namekians!
They are one of the only races that occupy more than one universe, as they can be seen in both Universes 6 and 7. They were originally born on a version of Planet Namek located on the Second Demon World, but upon the creation of the multiverse, they left the Realm, leaving their old planet behind. They are the race who have created the Dragon Balls, with the realm’s last remaining Namekian, Neva, being the creator of the ones in the Demon Realm.
Saiyan Saga
The Kai are among the most important of the races in the entire multiverse since they are the ones who go on to become the counterparts tothe Gods of Destructionin each universe. The original name of this race is the Glinds, who owe their existence to the Demon Realm. Upon coming to the universe, Majin Rymus beset upon them the duty to overlook and take care of their respective universes that they were appointed to.
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings!
Their planet was originally located on the Second Demon World but, as Majin Rymus created the multiverse, they were called away from it to govern the life and development of the universes. Furthermore, they are born through the five Glind Trees, which essentially grow the members of this race and bring one out every few centuries. However, the trees have died out, making the Glinds an endangered species.
Demon Realm Saga
The Demon Realm is known to be a fierce and dangerous place, but nothing could have prepared the Z-Fighters for the mysterious planet of the Megaths. These are towering giants who are so large that the main characters look like flies compared to them, which is an apt comparisonconsidering their fight with a giant dogshowed the dogs fleas, which were the size of the heroes.
The Megaths are massive and their planet, Planet Mega, is considered to be the second-most dangerous planet in the Second Demon World, beaten only by Planet Giga, which belongs to the Gigaths race. The Gigaths have not been seen yet in the series but are said to be even bigger than the Megaths, which is why it’s a great idea to stay away from both places in the future.
The Tamagami And The Majin Are Creations
Creations of Other Characters
Although these are perhaps the most notable members of the Demon Realm, it should be stated that neither of these groups should be considered a race, since they are merely the creations of others to fulfill a purpose. TheTamagami are the creationsof the Namekian Neva, who created them as the stalwart defenders of the Demon Realm Dragon Balls. There are only 3 of them in total, 1 for each of the Dragon Balls.
On the other hand, the Majin are creatures that are made by the witch Marba to be subservient to other characters. The very first Majin ever created is the iconic Majin Buu, who the wizard Bibidi commissioned the creation of eons ago to give himself the most power possible, while the newer members of the race, Kuu and Duu, are created to be controlled by whatever Arinsu’s plans are for the future.
