The Majin make up the majority of sentient beings in the Demon Realm, andDragon Ball Daimaeven revealed that a majority of races in the multiverse actually descended from them. Could they call the Namekians one of their own though?

Are Namekians Majin?

As of the making of this article,Dragon Ball Daima, or any of theother canonDragon Ballseries has never acknowledged Namekians as Majin. It’s easy to see why people would make the assumption though. Both originated from the Demon Realm and one of the most easily recognizable features of the Majin, their pointy ears, is also present in Namekians. The term Majin refers to a group of species and races with demonic and/or magical origins, but while the Namekiansdouse magic, nobody has stated that they themselves are Majin.

Keep checking in withDaimathough, becauseat the rate they’re goingwith new lore reveals, they might suddenly uncover some connection between the Namekians and Majin any day now. For all anyone knows, they might suddenly broaden the definition of what it means to be Majin to be any race or species that originated from the Demon Realm.

Is Demon King Piccolo a Majin?

Considering King Piccolo is a demon, andMajin are demonic creatures, does that make him an exception to all Namekians? The answer is still no, though, it’s a little more complicated because the Majin are indeed demons. However, note that not every demon inDragon Ballis considered a Majin. Demon King Piccolo’s origin is that he is the manifestation of an unnamed Namekian’s evil, with Kami being the manifestation of that same Namekian’s good nature. As such,King Piccolo is a beingof pure evil, and therefore a “demon”, but one that has nothing to do with the Demon Realm’s Majin. He even created his own Demon Clan, comprised of him and his sons, like Tambourine, Cymbal, and Drum, who are also all demons, but not Majin.

However, in some realities, Demon King Piccoloisconsidered a Majin.Namely, theXenoversegames, due to a move called the Majin Kamehameha. They referred to the move as the Demon Clan’s version of the Kamehameha, but that move is also used by actual Majins like Majin Buu andXenoverse’s Demon King, Mira. Until the canonical anime or manga confirms this though, Demon King Piccolo can only be considered a Majin within theXenoversecanon.

When Did the Namekians Move Out of the Demon Realm?

And Why Did They?

Unlike the Majin, who migrated close towhen Rymus created the multiverse, which would have been tens to hundreds of millions of years ago, the Namekians only left the Demon Realm thousands of years ago. The estimated time of when they left is based on Neva saying he hasn’t seen another Namekian in thousands of years inDragon Ball Daimaepisode 1, “Conspiracy”.

As for the why, the Namekians left the Demon Realm because they didn’t like being ruled over by the Demon King. Their power to create Dragon Balls and wish-granting dragons was toovaluable for the Demon Kingto leave them alone in the Demon Realm. Since Namekians are pacifists, instead of starting a rebellion, they simply left after taking enough resources from the original Namek to make their next world look and feel similar. It’s unknown how they did it though, because Warp-sama seems to be the only way in and out of the Demon Realm, which is closely monitored and recorded. However, the Supreme Kai did note that regulations on travel to and from the Demon Realm weren’t always so heavily regulated, somaybe the Namekians leftbefore it happened. There’s even a chance that the Namekians' escape was what prompted the Demon King to make travel stricter. The only Namekian that stayed behind was Neva, due to him being the creator of the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls and being tasked with watching over them.

“It must have been a difficult decision to leave here… The Supreme Demon Kings were always self-serving. Namekians have many abilities, so they were regarded as quite valuable. They were treated as little more than slaves.” - Supreme Kai Shin

Why Do Only Universe 6 and 7 Have Namekians?

The Twin Universes Are What the Namekians Now Call Home

The Namekians most likelyjust wanted to stick together since their species was only big enough to inhabit one planet in the Demon Realm. Their population is nothing compared to the Majin, who inhabit most of the Demon Realm and whose population was large enough that they could populate all the universes Rymus created. Also, the Namekians' unique powers and peace-loving nature made them prime targets for evil people, so it made sense for them to stick together in only one or two big groups.

But as for why it had to beUniverses 6 and 7specifically, well, it probably didn’thaveto be those two. They simply split into two groups and happened to pick the twin universes. If you really want to take a guess, it might have been because those two universes were home to planets that were close enough to the original Namek, which made them suitable choices.
