Dunedives into the life ofPaul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), a teenager whose family runs the desert planet Arrakis. It’s an incredible starring vehicle forChalamet, who has appeared in some great moviesbut who has arguably become an even bigger movie star thanks to this high-profile role. BothDuneandDune: Part Twocan only be described as “epic,” both in terms of the story and length. Both movies are around two and a half hours. Some might argue that movies that are almost three hours long are frustrating and unwieldy. There are certainly critics and fans who would say thatDuneandDune: Part Twoshould be shorter. However, one could also argue that the movies couldn’t be any shorter since there werea lot of story details and character arcs to include.

In an interview withEmpire, Chalamet talked about starring in indie movies such asBeautiful BoyandCall Me By Your Nameand then appearing inDune, one of the biggest blockbusters of the past few years. He talked about his acting career and said:
“I wouldn’t do it any differently because coming from a drama high school too was the perfect notch-up. It made sense. To be brave enough to learn from one’s own experience. There was a step up that felt healthy about that. Denis Villeneuve has a very earthy, energy-based, moment-to-moment way of being inspired, but also in abandoning ideas he might have had 24 hours ago. It’s inspiring.”
