Summary

Elden Ringis considered to be the best game FromSoftware has released to date, as it not only maintains many of the elements that have made theDark Soulsfranchise great, but also implemented a few of its own, includinggreat Ashes of War, and open-world mechanics.

On top of this, players canchoose different builds including those based on Faith, Dexterity, Strength, Arcane, and more. Having so many options allows players to have a more complete experience and figure out different ways to deal with the bosses they might be struggling with. Some bosses are extremely quick, whereas others, not so much. Here are some of theslowest bosses inElden Ring.It should be noted that the list includes both main and field bosses, and the entries ranked higher are based on difficulty to defeat.

Elden Ring - Tibia Mariner

7Tibia Mariners

Extremely Slow And Heavily Reliant On Other Undead

As players explore The Lands Between, they will often come acrossTibia Mariners, which are skeletal enemies that are rowing through various bodies of water. Tibia Mariners are not particularly difficult to deal with, as they are very slow with their attacks and rely heavily on the other undead around them.

They also don’t hit very hard. However, for players in the early game, a couple of hits might be enough to kill them. If this is the case, players should find some of thebest armor sets for melee buildsto counteract the damage.

Regal Ancestor Spirit

6Regal Ancestor Spirit

A Boss Fight That’s More Beautiful Than Challenging

FromSoftware bosses are not known for presenting players with a beautiful arena accompanied by soothing music and overall mystical visuals. However, theRegal Ancestor Spirithas each one of these elements, so fighting it is an experience.

In all honesty, this boss does not seem to be in the best shape, which makes killing it a shame and causes a feeling similar to that of killing Sif in the originalDark Souls. To make matters worse, the Regal Ancestor Spirit isn’t particularly fast, which makes the boss fight even easier. Players shouldn’t struggle to defeat this foe, but if they do, using some of thebest Talismans availablecan help level the playing field.

Dragonkin Soldier Elden Ring Hidden Secret

5Dragonkin Soldier Of Nokstella

Powerful Attacks, But Their Speed Makes Them Easy To Dodge

The lore behind theDragonkin Soldier of Nokstellais very interesting, and players who want to learn more about The Lands Between and the creatures inhabiting it, should read it. Their tale involves the search for power and immortality—one that was botched along the way.

This enemy can be very dangerous, as it hits like a truck. However, given its massive size and slow movement, learning to read its next attack and avoid it is not too difficult. Players struggling to bring this formidable foe down might want to try some of thebest sacred seals inElden Ringto make this daunting task easier.

elden ring putrid avatar

4Putrid Avatar

Hits Like A Truck, But Moves Rather Slowly

Elden Ringis great for many reasons, includingthe multiple endings availableto players, the formidable bosses spread throughout The Lands Between, and even the old guardians of the Minor Erdtrees—one of which is thePutrid Avatar.

This boss is quite large and can have a considerable attack range by using its staff. On top of this, the Putrid Avatar also has various attacks with a decent AoE, which further reinforces the danger it poses. Luckily, one of its flaws is its slow range of movement, which makes dodging its attacks very easy.

Elden Ring - Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy

3Rykard, Lord Of Blasphemy

A Challenging Boss Fight, But Not Because Of Speed

According to many players,Rykard, Lord of Blasphemyis, by far, the most wonderfully disgusting boss in the entirety ofElden Ring. Not only does he have a snake-like body with tons of arms, but he seems to be in a constant state of digesting his victims.

The biggest challenge players will face when it comes to facing this formidable boss, is that they’ll have to figure out that a special weapon is needed to kill him. Rykard has some quick attacks, but for the most part, he is rather slow and can be easily defeated with patience and pattern recognition. Killing him will give players the chance to exchange his Remembrance for the Blasphemous Blade, one of the greatest andhardest weapons to getdue to the sheer difficulty of the fight.

Elden Ring Fire Giant

2Fire Giant

He Moves Rather Slowly, But His Health Bar Is Enormous

FromSoftware’s titles have always been known for presenting players with a few bosses that have massive health pools—and theFire Giantis the perfect example. Whilethis large bossis not very quick at all, his sheer size grants him a lot of range to land deadly attacks, and he also takes advantage of his AoE abilities after some time.

Draining the Fire Giant’s health pool takes a lot of patience and resilience, as well as good reflexes. Using a long-distance approach or an Intelligence/Faith build can go a long way in making this boss fight easier.

Elden Ring Godfrey looking at the viewer

1Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Phase 1)

He Has Telegraphed Attacks And Gives Lots Of Windows Of Opportunity To Strike And Heal

When players defeat Maliketh, the Black Blade and gain access to Leyndell, Ashen Capital, one of the greatest challenges they’ll encounter isGodfrey, the First Elden Lord. Godfrey was Queen Marika’s first husband, and together, they had three children; Godwyn, Mohg, and Morgott.

Although Godfrey is not as slow as the Fire Giant, for example, his first phase is a lot simpler than the second one. During the first phase, his attacks are telegraphed and easy to dodge, and they’re slow enough that players will have enough opportunity to punish him and heal if they need to.
