Video game adaptations are the current trend in Hollywood and another popular sci-fi title is being pushed into the development pipeline for a TV version. Quantic Dream’sBeyond: Two Soulswas released back in 2013 and now, over a decade later it’s getting a second lease on life.

Beyond: Two Soulsfeatured two playable characters: Jodie Holmes (Elliot Page), a young woman with telepathic abilities, and Aiden, an incorporeal entity psychically connected to Jodie. Willem Dafoe also starred in the game as Nathan Dawkins, a researcher, and Jodie’s father figure, who helps her hone her powers and connection to Aiden throughout her life. Upon release,Beyond: Two Soulswas praisedfor its performances and advanced character animations, which were bolstered by motion capture. To date, the game has a score of 71 on OpenCritic and went on to become one of the best-selling games on the PS3, although a sequel was never released.

Beyond: Two Souls TV Show Is In Development

Beyond: Two Souls’journey is not over, however, as a TV adaptation of the sci-fi game has been announced.Deadlinereported that Elliot Page himself is helping to develop the series with his company, Pageboy Productions, acquiring the rights for the game from Quantic Dream. The series is still in early development and no cast or creatives have been announced.“We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers,”Page said in a statement. Pageboy Production head of development, Matt Jordan Smith, added that the adaptation will “honor the game’s legacy while inviting fresh perspectives,” and would explore the game’s themes of survival and the impact of split-second decisions.

“Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career. The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.”
