The Rail Gun is still a powerful tool that some players might want in theirFortniteloadout to claim victory among the other players that lurk within the map.
Luckily, the Rail Gun isn’t all that hard to find, but some players might want to know specifics on how they can get the Rail Gun or to see the stats on the different variants of the high-tech weapon that will seek to aid them in a fight or let them know if it’s worth dropping for something else.
How to Get the Rail Gun in Fortnite
The Rail Gun is found in Epic and Legendary rarities, so it might be quite difficult to obtain since there is no NPC that sells the Rail Gun. Players will instead have to look to Chests and Floor Loot in order to try and get the Rail Gun. However, there are plenty of loot sources in Chapter 6 Season 1, like theloot caves of Magic Mossesandhidden vaults of Nightshift Forest.
The only way to get a Rail Gun in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 is to get lucky from a Chest, but that shouldn’t be too hard to do considering there are plenty of them, so just loot up and hope that lootworthy of a victory royaledraws near.

The Rail Gun takes around 3 seconds to charge its shot once players hold the Fire button, and they can suspend their shot for an extra 3 seconds before the Rail Gun will automatically fire. Hitting a shot with the Rail Gun is rather difficult, as there is no way to cancel a charging shot, and enemies will constantly strafe and move instead of remaining entirely stationary as the bright light of a Rail Gun aims towards them.
While the structure damage and the headshot damage of a Rail Gun are great, it’s still hard to hit, and Heavy Bullets might be better used for a reliable Hunting Rifle instead of the loud and slow Rail Gun. However, players are welcome to try out the weapon themselves, as it’s still pretty fun to wield.
