Summary
A recent chart has revealed which characters inGenshin Impactare due for a rerun, as an interesting pattern continues to emerge. With over 90 playable characters inGenshin Impact, it has become difficult (if not impossible) for the developers to maintain a fair banner schedule. Certain 5-Stars are bound to be left behind, especially those with more niche play styles. The latest examples were Shenhe and Ganyu, two Cryo characters from Liyue who had gone over 550 days without a banner rerun.
While Ganyu and Shenhe have both made their way to theChronicled Banner inGenshin Impact, many players feel that Triple Banners are inevitable. This is largely due to the inconsistency of the Chronicled Banner, as well as the fact that it lacks Capturing Radiance, a luck mechanic added to Event Banners in Version 5.0. With the recent changes made to the Weapon Banner as well, pulling on the Chronicled Banner is the least efficient way to obtain a desired 5-Star Character or Weapon inGenshin Impact.

According to RapidFresh, the creator of the chart, Kokomi remains at the top of the list after Version 5.4. Her last banner appearance was in Version 3.8, where she headlined the second half of the patch with Wanderer. WhileKokomi inGenshin Impactwas always considered a premium healer, her value only increased after Fontaine’s fluctuation mechanics. Other notable standouts on the list include Venti and Xianyun, with the former assumed for Version 5.5, while the latter being one of two characters who came out during Fontaine, but have yet to have a rerun.

Another curious pattern that can be gleaned from the waiting list is that the developers seem to be avoidingGenshin Impactcharactersfrom Inazuma. Kokomi, Ayato, Ayaka, Yoimiya, Yae Miko, and Itto would all be eligible to debut in a hypothetical Inazuma Chronicled Banner, and Mizuki would also be able to join by Version 5.6. While the developers haven’t confirmed a third Chronicled Banner inGenshin Impact, featuring them on a more consistent schedule would fix the main issue that players have with its current format.
WhileCryo 5-Stars inGenshin Impactwent through a major banner drought, Wriothesley is set to make a triumphant return to the Event Banners in Version 5.4. Not much is known about the Event Banners for Version 5.5, but it is expected that Varesa will be the new 5-Star character added to the playable cast. With Venti presumably taking one slot to complete the Archon rerun, it leaves two available spots for other 5-Stars to claim. Version 5.4 is set to launch on June 24, 2025.
