Summary
Genshin Impacthas revealed the new content coming in Version 5.4, which will mark the debut of Yumemizuki Mizuki, and will heavily focus on the region of Inazuma. After concluding the Archon Quest in Natlan,Genshin Impactis set to return to Inazuma for the Flagship Event of Version 5.4, which will revolve around the Mikawa Festival held between yokai and humans. It will feature characters such as Yae Miko, Raiden, and Mizuki in central roles, but players can also expect to see old friends such as Thoma and Yoimiya participating in the event.
The star of Version 5.4 is expected to be Yumemizuki Mizuki, who will be the firstStandard Banner character inGenshin Impactthat hails from Inazuma. In terms of her ability kit, the developers have described Mizuki as a flexible party member, capable of dealing Swirl damage while also healing the active character with collectible snacks. However, a unique aspect of Yumemizuki Mizuki is a passive that allows her teammates to gain more benefits from consuming food items, with the chance of the effect triggering based on the Friendship level of the character.

The livestream highlighted the major events coming in Version 5.4, with the Mikawa Festival taking the spotlight. Much like previous Flagship Events,Genshin Impactplayers will be able to enjoy several minigames during the Mikawa Festival, including a revamped version of Akitsu Yuugei. By participating in the event, players can earn rewards that can be exchanged for a new 4-Star Polearm, which may potentially imply that either Varesa orIansan inGenshin Impactare Polearm characters.
Genshin Impact: Version 5.4 Special Program Livestream
In terms of the Event Banners for Version 5.4, players can expect to see Yumemizuki Mizuki and Sigewinne during the first half of the update, while the second half will be headlined by Furina and Wriothesley. The second half should spark plenty of interest for Wriothesley fans, as not only is Furina one of his best teammates, but Cashflow is running alongside one of the most desirable Swords in the game: the Splendor of Tranquil Waters. Unfortunately, the livestream also confirmed that an InazumaChronicled Banner inGenshin Impactis still several patches away, as Mizuki will only join the Standard Banner pool after Version 5.5.
Despite launching with no new map expansion for Naltan or Teyvat, players are excited about a return to Inazuma in Version 5.4. However, there is an argument to be made that Natlan is a significantly drier patch cycle compared to Fontaine, at least in its first half. Whereas Fontaine released its fourth zone in Version 4.4, Natlan still only has two zones to offer. The content cycle forNatlan inGenshin Impacthas been unorthodox, to say the least, and many fans in the community wonder how the second half will make up for it. Version 5.4 is set to be released on July 05, 2025.
