Grand Theft Auto Onlineis ringing in the Year of the Snake with a series of special Lunar New Year events and rewards. The festivities inGrand Theft Auto Online, which started January 23, include new stunt races, collectibles, nightclub bonuses, and cosmetic gifts for players.
Lunar New Year events are a regular occurrence inGTA Online, which includes the typically Eastern-celebrated holiday on its regular list of annual holiday events. Last year, theYear of the Dragon Celebration inGTA Onlinelet players snag a new pair of dragon masks to wear, along with a special event-themed dress and tee shirt, as well as a log-in reward in the amount of GTA$188,888.
As revealed by the developer, the Year of the Snake’s events won’t just hand piles of cash over to players simply for logging in, but there are ways to rack up some big rewards. Chief among these are three newGrand Theft Auto Onlinestunt races, in which up to 16 players can compete on special racecourses decorated with paper lanterns and the ambiance of fireworks. Players who complete at least two of these special stunt races during the event’s first week will receive GTA$100,000, but that isn’t the only reward on offer. Entering any of the three races will let players claim a special Lunar New Year livery for the Maibatsu Penumbra FF that will be delivered within 72 hours of completion, as long as the race is entered on or before February 12. Additionally, players entering these races during the event will earn double GTA$ and RP.
GTA Online Lunar New Year 2025 Event Period
The special Maibatsu Penumbra livery isn’t the onlyGTA Onlinecosmetic itemthat will be available during the event. Players will also be able to ring in the Year of the Snake in style with a set of cosmetic login rewards. These cosmetic items include the Black Snake Yogarishima Outfit, Red Serpent Leather Jacket, Snake Soul Pendant, Snake King Pendant, Red Snake Soul Cap, and Gray Snake King Cap. Additionally, a total of 36 golden Yunbao Collectibles have also been scattered across Los Santos. Finding each of these collectibles will award players with GTA$ and RP, but collecting all of them will also unlock the event’s ultimate cosmetic prize, the Gold Snake Santo Capra Outfit.
Along with these event bonuses, players will earn double GTA$ from theirGTA OnlineNightclubs' daily income and double GTA$, RP, and Goods from Nightclub Goods Missions. Players can also use the event as an opportunity to open and upgrade nightclubs, as the event period will grant a 30 percent discount on all nightclub properties, upgrades, and modifications.
