If the party is approaching defeat in battle or facing insurmountable odds, it would be wise for players to run away and live to fight another day.
Enemies can hit you as you’re running away, which means that they can kill you before the escape gauge is full. So, if your health is low, usea healing item inTales of Graces fbefore you make a run for it.

First, pull the character away from the enemies to avoid getting hit. Run them towardthe circular arena line that marks the escape boundary. After a few seconds of running in place, an escape gauge will display on the screen. This gauge shows the party’s progress toward a successful escape.
