Citadelle Des Morts sawBlack Ops 6Zombies return to a classic atmosphere, transporting players to a medieval castlereminiscent of Der Eisendrache. The release of spiritual successors seems to be a growing trend inBlack Ops 6, as The Tomb has made its debut in Season 2, evoking memories of Origins with its eerily similar setting.
The Tomb also reintroduces the Staff of Ice, last seen in Origins, along with some nightmarish enemies for players to face in their quest to complete the main Easter Egg. However, to improve their chances of success, players will need upgraded weapons, making the opportunity to acquire a free Aether Tool a great side Easter Egg to pursue. Here’show to get a free Rare Aether Tool in The Tomb.

How To Get a Free Aether Tool in The Tomb
Before players can get their hands on a free Aether Tool, they must first open the doorway to Nowhere. Players will naturallycomplete this step on their way to the Pack-a-Punch Machine, as opening the gateway is necessary for getting access to the Dark Aether Nexus during the early steps of the main quest.
Once players have access to the Dark Aether Nexus, they will then need toapply Cryo Freeze to their weapon. The most reliable way to do this is bypurchasing the Ammo Mod from The Arsenalfor 500 Salvage, which will require players to slay quite a few zombies beforehand.

Once players have Cryo Freeze equipped on their weapon, they are free to head into the Dark Aether Nexus through any doorway on the map. On the west side of the Dark Aether Nexus, players willfind two waterfalls, each of which can be frozen with a single shot from a Cryo Freeze-infused weapon. Simplyshoot both waterfalls within a short timeframeto fulfill the Easter Egg.
Upon doing so, an audio cue will sound, andan Aether Tool will spawn within the ruins between the waterfalls.Picking up the Aether Tool will upgrade the player’s currently equipped weapon’s rarity, providing a boost in damage, great for those who are approaching the higher rounds. Though this secret is rather obscure, completing it is relatively quick and easy, and has the potential to save players from spending a hefty sum of Salvage at The Armory during the early game.

The Aether Tool rarity that players receive depends on the roundin which they complete the step. From rounds 1 to 10, players will be rewarded with a Rare Aether Tool. From rounds 11 to 21, they will receive an Epic Aether Tool. Finally, at round 30 and beyond, players will be rewarded with a Legendary Aether Tool.
