The Wide Lens raises a Pokemon’s accuracy by10%. As a Held Item, it needs to begiven to your Pokemon to work. Generally, you only want to use the Wide Lens if your Pokemon has moves withlow accuracy. You can check the accuracy of a move by going into the Pokemon’s summary and tabbing over to Moves.
Another item that’s similar to the Wide Lens is theZoom Lens. you may buy the Zoom Lens from Delibird Presents (Levincia) for 10000, but only after you’ve earnedfour gym badges. The Zoom Lens is another Held Item that will raise the accuracy of your Pokemon’s moves by20%. However,the Zoom Lens accuracy boostonly applies if your Pokemon movesafter the opponent.
Between the two, the Wide Lens is preferred if you’re using a Pokemon that has high Speed. The 10% accuracy will apply to your Pokemon’s moves regardless if its turn is first or last. Likewise, slower Pokemon may benefit more from the Zoom Lens.
Which Pokemon Should Equip Wide Lens?
Abilities & Moves with Low Accuracy
The Wide Lens should be equipped by a Pokemon that has an Ability that lowers their accuracy, or if they have a move with low accuracy.For example, Maushold’s signature move, Population Bomb, benefits from having high accuracy to ensure Maushold dishes out as much damage as possible. Wide Lens will increase the accuracy of Population Bomb, which has a base accuracy of 90%. Alternatively, you may have Maushold equip aLoaded Diceinstead, which means Population Bomb willhit at least four times.
You can give Wide Lens to a Pokemon with theHustleAbility. In battle, a Pokemon with Hustle will have their Attack stat raised by 50%, but their accuracy will be lowered by 20%. The followingScarlet/VioletPokemon can have Hustle:
