Strands refer to the various types of magical abilities Brynn and the Weavers can wield inEternal Strands. Instead of learning magic from teachers or absorbing power from ancient walls, players here will have to hunt some big game and pay the Weaverband’s specialist a visit afterward.
Learning how to use a Strand is cool and all, but if you want toprogress throughEternal Strands, you’ll eventually need to upgrade the ones you already know how to use. Thankfully, upgrading a Strand is just as simple as unlocking a new one.

How to Get Strand Powers in Eternal Strands
To get and upgrade a Strand, you need to find and beat the enemy related to it. However, just depleting the enemy’s health bar won’t be enough. You need toHarvestthe Strand from them by finding a weakspot and manually extracting the power from there.
For example, beating the Ark of the Stricken Earth for the first time as part ofthe story ofEternal Strandswill give you upgrades for theEnsnaring BlastStrand. If you break off its chest piece and Harvest the magic from its chest, you’ll get another Ensnaring Blast Strand. Killing the boss outright won’t yield anything.

Powers can be upgraded only a limited number of times. If you find and beat more of the same boss that drops a Strand Power that you’ve already maxed out, you won’t get any more copies of that Strand Power, but you’ll still be able to harvest whatever resources that boss drops.
Before fast-travelling to a location, pay attention to the Epic Encounter listed on the info menu on the right. This indicates what type of boss you’re able to find while exploring that area.

Visit Dahm
Once you’ve beaten a boss and obtained a copy of the power you want to upgrade, go back to base and speak with Dahm next to Sola and Sev’s smithy. He’s responsible for researching magic, and he can weave Strand into your mantle too. Simply speak with him and choose whichever power you want to upgrade.
To upgrade a power to level 3, you’ll need to upgrade Dahm’s Atelier first. To do so, speak with Casmyr near the Loomgate and upgrade Dahm’s station from there. You may need to upgrade Casmyr’s own station first (if you haven’t already), and you’ll also need to progress through the main quest to get the base workstation’s to level 3. You’ll unlock this new tier of upgradesafter you spend a day exploring Upper Dnevron.
You’ll need Camp Supplies to upgrade NPC workstations back at base. To get these materials, speak with Casmyr and select the Salvage Resources option. This will let you scrap any unneeded materials into supplies.
