Insomniac isn’t quite ready to provide an official release date forMarvel’s Wolverine. Shortly before this, formerWolverineassociate narrative director Mary Kenney confirmed that she was also departing Insomniac for a senior writer job at CDPR.
These potential setbacks have left gamers wondering whenMarvel’s Wolverinewill be released, but it seems that Insomniac isn’t ready to give a solid answer just yet. In a recent interview withVariety, new Insomniac co-head Chad Derzern declined to answer ifMarvel’s Wolverineis coming out in 2025, stating that while Insomniac is excited about the project, the staff behind it has to remain tight-lipped for the time being. “As much as we have pent up excitement [aboutMarvel’s Wolverine], we got to hold on to it. So that’s about as much as we could say about our upcoming projects today.”
Marvel’s Wolverine Devs Aren’t Ready to Confirm a Release Date

Shortly before The Game Awards 2024, gaming industry insider Jeff Grubb noted thatMarvel’s Wolverineis reportedly fairly far along in developmentand that Insomniac could be getting ready to reveal more about the much-anticipated superhero title. While there is still no word on the game’s official release date, some still believe that it could launch sometime this year - perhaps as a competitor to the upcomingMarvel 1943: Rise of Hydrafrom Skydance.
