Summary
WhileStephen Kingfans get ready for the arrival ofIt: Welcome to Derry, one of the stars ofIt: Chapter Twohas an enticing update. It appears that Isaiah Mustafa is not only open to another movie centering around Pennywise the Clown, but believes there is a chance that another installment could be on the way in the not too distance future.
Mustafa played the adult version of Mike Hanlon, the man who stayed behind in Derry to track Pennywise and call the other members of The Losers Club back to town if he believed the entity had started killing again. BothIt: Chapter TwoandItwere adaptations of the beloved Stephen King adaptation. The entire story takes place in two different time periods. The first half of the King book and the first installment of the movies covered when The Losers Club first came together in order to battle the killer clown that can take the form of someone’s worst fear. It: Chapter Twoshows the adult versions, including Mustafa, managing to defeat Pennywise once and for (seemingly.)

Is It: Chapter Three On The Way?
In a recent interview withScreenrant, Mustafa made it clear that he thinks there might be room forIt: Chapter Threeor some other kind of installment in the movie universe. While he wasn’t willing to be remotely specific about if he’s talked to anyone about anothermovie centered around Pennywise and Derry, he did very much leave the door open saying, to “never say never.” However he admitted that he legitimately doesn’t know if his Mike Hanlon character will pop up again, however he’s always had some inkling that the story might go on saying, he “never thought that there wouldn’t be anything to continue the story.”
Mustafa also teased that he’s been onthe set ofIt: Welcome to Derry, the prequel series that is coming to Max sometime this year. The new show is set years before The Losers Club even existed, let alone heard about the alien shapeshifter. It will delve a bit deeper into the horrors that Pennywise caused before Mike Hanlon and company decided to fight back and take him out.
Despite Mustafa getting a first-hand look at the set of the new show, he’s not sharing any details. “I know better than to say anything about what’s coming,” the actor said in the interview. He also teased readers as he said he had several things pointed out during his visit that will be big news when the world gets to see them, and then was specifically told not to talk about it.
For now,It: Welcome to Derrydoes not have an official release date but it is slated for a 2025 launch. The people behind the series also have a very specific plan to tell the story thatwill last three seasons, assuming they get to finish the tale. It’s possible that another movie involving the shape-changing monster could arrive in between those seasons, if everything works out right for fans of the Stephen King adaptation.
