ScreenGeekreported that its sources claimed Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was considering bringing Majors back to the MCU as Kang. Rather than reinstating Majors' Kang as the Multiverse Saga’s overarching villain, the report claimed the idea was the feature Majors in an unspecified future MCU project totie up loose ends and wrap up Kang’s storyline. However,TMZreports thatmultiple sources with “direct knowledge” have informed them that Majors currently has not had talks about reprising his role as Kang.

Notable scooper MyTimeToShineHello responded to TMZ’s report by noting that ScreenGeek’s article stated Marvel Studios was “considering” bringing back Majors as Kang, not that he was in talks to reprise the role. However, TMZ also notes that its sources say Marvel Studios is not considering bringing Majors back to the MCU.Another reputable scooper, The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, weighed in on the matter when a Twitter user asked them if they knew if their any truth to the rumors of Marvel Studios considering bringing back Majors as Kang. Perez simply replied, “Absolutely not.”

The question fans must be asking is does anyone want Majors to return as Kang? While Majors' performance as Kang’s variants inAnt-Man 3andLokiwas praised, the character didn’t resonate with most moviegoers. Marvel Studios reportedly considered replacing Kang as the Multiverse Saga’s main villain afterAnt-Man 3was poorly received, despite Majors being one of the only aspects of the film that people enjoyed. Still, Kang was often mocked for being easily defeated in each of his appearances, potentially diminishing his threat level for the next twoAvengersmovies.

Furthermore, Majors is still a controversial figure. While some believe he deserves another chance, others believe the actions for which he was convicted were unforgivable and that Marvel Studios and the rest of Hollywood should cut ties with him forever. Either way, Marvel Studios would court controversy by inviting Majors back to the MCU. Now that Marvel Studios is seemingly committed to focusing onRobert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, the backlash that would come with Majors and Kang is probably a headache the studios could do without.

Avengers: Secret Warsis scheduled to be released in theaters on July 07, 2025.
