Taking players back to the 15th-century Kingdom of Bohemia,Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2tells the next chapter of Henry’s story, who is the main protagonist retained from the first game. Similar to the 2018 original, whichlanded on Switch in March 2024, the open-world action RPG aims to recreate its Renaissance-era setting with historical accuracy in mind and features a range of real-world figures from the past. Amid much anticipation, the first-person title rolled out to major critical success, currently boasting an overall average score of 89 on OpenCritic. And, it has now been revealed that the game’s impressive reviews have come coupled with strong sales numbers.

On Twitter, Warhorse Studios announced thatKingdom Come: Deliverance 2had amassed “over a million” players within 24 hours of launch. In comparison, its predecessor took nine days to reach the same milestone following a mixed reception. In other words, the sequel has not only outperformedKingdom Come: Deliverancein terms of reviews but also in the context of commercial performance so far. This feat looks especially remarkable, keeping in mind that the Deep Silver-published game isn’t currently available on thePlayStation Storein Saudi Arabia, despite theWarhorse Studios co-founder denying rumors of a ban.
